OEYC GUIDELINES
We encourage all families to follow these
health and safety guidelines to learn, play, and grow together.
*Sign in on our attendance sheet each visit
*Wear slippers, socks, or indoor shoes inside the centre
*You are responsible for the supervision of the children in your care at all
times while at the centre. If you need help, please let us know-we‘re
always willing to lend a helping hand
*For the safety of the children NO HOT DRINKS ARE ALLOWED in the
play rooms.
*OEYC is allergy aware. Please do not bring in any outside food-we will
provide a snack
*All food and drink stay in the snack area. Encourage your child to
wash his/her hands before/ after eating snack, and after using the washroom.
*Offer snack only to the children in your care. Please note that the
safety of any child with food
allergies is the responsibility of that child‘s parent/caregiver.
*Leave tables, highchairs, chairs, and floors clean after use. Please use
disinfectant spray.
*Please change your child on the change table provide in the washroom
area. Please use the
disinfectant spray to clean the change table after use.
*Please remember to clean the portable potty seats after use.
*Introduce your child to different play areas in the centre and participate with him/her. Tidy up activity areas before you move on to the
next area. Children should be encouraged to help tidy up their activity.
*In order to reduce the spread of germs please use the ‗to be cleaned‘
bin for toys that have been mouthed or over-handled by your child.
These toys will be sanitized by staff before being returned to the playroom
*Please avoid the use of cell phones. Enjoy the time with your child
while at our centre-this program is an opportunity for you to interact
with your child.
*Please stay home if you or your child is not well or displaying the following symptoms: fever,
diarrhea, vomiting, undiagnosed rash, communicable disease, persistent
cough, or head lice. If you are at the centre and any of these symptoms
are evident staff will request that you leave.
*We promote gentle guidance supported by a strong foundation of love
and respect as the most effective method of discipline.

show starts at 10:30am and is approximately 2 hours

La Leche League(LLL) is

group that is led by trained
mothers with personal
breastfeeding experience. Claire a mother of 3
young children and a LLL leader will be at
OEYC on the last Wednesday of every month
to host an informative meeting for pregnant
and breastfeeding mothers. Meetings are informal and mothers can come anytime between 10-12 to learn about breastfeeding, have their questions answered or just
meet other mothers in the area.
