Wilton Pony Club riders win ribbons at Know-Down Rally Eleven members of Wilton Pony Club kicked off the 2001 season by competing in Know-Down, the first Regional Rally of the >car, held on March 3 at Cold Spring Harbor High School on Long Island. Wilton Pony Club members come from Wilton and the neighboring towns of Ridgcfield, Westport. and ,Lcwisboro. N.Y. ; Pony Club teams from the entire Metropolitan Region of New York L o n g Island and Southern Connecticut answered horse-related questions, from proper feeding, shoeing and grooming to safety and health care, presented in a multiple choice format. This unmounted competition illustrates the United States Pony Club's emphasis on teaching all aspects of the proper care of horses, and not just the horseback riding. In divisions grouped by age and club rating, Wilton Pony Club teams placed as follows: Junior D: Second place (Sam Sedgwick. Elizabeth Salsgiver, Lauren Merkley and Erica Hill); Junior D: Fourth place (Imogen de Lavis.
