CDSS has taken Dance Camp on the road! This amazing staff will be teaching
and performing in the Owen Sound area for 6 full days. Participate in musician
workshops, a caller’s course or just come to dance.

On beautiful Georgian Bay nestled in the Niagara Escarpment
Musicians SAM BARTLETT, ERIC SCHEDLAR, and BEN SMITH along with caller LOUIE CROMARTIE were chosen by Tour
Director NILS FREDLAND to lead this amazing 6 day event in our community because of their reputation as exceptional
contra dance performers and more importantly because of their skill as teachers. They will be working with elementary and
secondary school students during the day, leading evening workshops for musicians, callers and teachers as well as hosting
several dances.
The week begins with a welcome potluck and dance on Tuesday evening, then workshops and an evening dance on Wednesday.
Thursday celebrates BACK TO OUR ROOTS DAY! We will be commemorating 25 years of contra dancing in this region on
THURSDAY APRIL 30th at the Durham town hall. There will be a special tribute to late caller and driving spirit BETTLE LIOTA
and a reunion of the GLENELG FULLMOON COUNTRY DANCE BAND. Starting Friday morning the weekend will feature 3
days of musician and caller courses, dance workshops and of course afternoon and evening DANCES. Join us for a
delicious lunch and dinner on Saturday (cost $40, registration required) Sunday starts with a PANCAKE BREAKFAST
followed by workshops and a farewell dance.
Dancers and callers of all levels are welcome. Musicians should be comfortable on their instruments; the focus will be on
making great dance music out of traditional tunes (tune lists will be available on our website fiddlefern.ca - the learning tab)

2. If you want a billet, your registration must be received by April 1, 2015 to give us time to
organize your accommodation!
3. If you are a student or unwaged person we want to make it possible for you to attend - you
