chasing the expansion of the disease, and we’ve got to get ahead
of the expansion,” Allen told Casey Holdahl of Trailblazers.com.
ALLEN NAMED GEEKWIRE’S NEWSMAKER OF THE YEAR:
Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen was named Geekwire’s Newsmaker of the Year on Dec. 4 after a very eventful year for the

with 20+ points and 10+ rebounds.
BEYOND THE ARC: The Trail Blazers have made 10+ three-pointers in 28 games this season (18-10). Last month, Portland became
the first team in NBA history to make at least 16 three-pointers in
three consecutive games (12/23-12/28).
SHARING IS CARING: The Trail Blazers have finished with 20 or
more assists in 42 of 52 games this season. Earlier this season,
Portland became the first team to record at least 20 assists in each
of its first 20 games since Utah in 2007-08.
CONSISTENT LAMARCUS: With 18 points against Milwaukee
on Jan. 31, LaMarcus Aldridge secured his eighth consecutive
season with 1,000+ points.
WESLEY FOR THREE: With five 3-pointers against Washington
on Jan. 24, Wesley Matthews notched his 11th game this season with at least five made shots from beyond the arc (Por: 9-2).
DANGEROUS DAMIAN: Damian Lillard has finished with 25+
points and 5+ assists 14 times this season (Por: 11-3). He is also
the first Trail Blazer to score 900+ points and dish out 250+ assists through the first 41 games since Clyde Drexler in 1991-92.
LA FOR THREE: LaMarcus Aldridge is shooting 13-of-21
(61.9%) from beyond the arc in the first quarter this season.
For the season, Aldridge’s 25 three-pointers this season is
one more than he had through his previous eight seasons
combined (24).
COACH OF THE MONTH: Terry Stotts was named the Western
Conference Coach of the Month in December after leading Portland
to a 13-3 record. For Stotts, tt was his second career Coach of the
Month award.
CHANGE OF PACE: The Trail Blazers utilized their 13th different
starting lineup of the season on Jan. 31 against Washington. 11
different players have started a game for Portland this season,
just one year after the team utilized two different starting lineups
in 2013-14.
LILLARD TIME, ALL THE TIME: Playing in his 200th game on
Jan. 8 against the Heat, Damian Lillard became the first NBA
player with 4,000 points and 1,200 assists in his first 200 games
since LeBron James and Dwyane Wade did so from 2004-06.
Lillard’s 200 consecutive games played ranks second in franchise
history for most consecutive games played (C. Robinson - 461).
BATUM MILESTONE: With his lone three-pointer on Friday against
Atlanta, Nicolas Batum became the fourth player in Trail Blazers
history to reach 700 three-point field goals (Matthews, Porter,
Stoudamire).
STRONG START: By beating the Lakers on Jan. 11, Portland became the first team to reach 30 wins in the NBA this season. The
Trail Blazers won at least 30 of their first 38 games for the third time
in franchise history (32-6, 1977-78; 31-7, 1990-91; 30-8, 2014-15).
WESLEY MAKING HISTORY: After making six of his 10 threepoint attempts last Sunday (Nov. 30) against Minnesota, Wesley
Matthews became the first Trail Blazer ever to make at least six
3-pointers in three straight games. He joined J.R. Smith, Mike Miller
and George McCloud as the only four players to accomplish that
feat in NBA history.
BLAZING HIS OWN TRAIL: Damian Lillard’s 33 3-pointers made
through his first 10 games was the most 3-pointers made by any Trail
Blazer through the first 10 games in franchise history. Lillard also
became the first Portland player to have 200 points, 50 rebounds and
50 assists through the first 10 games since Clyde Drexler in 1993.
L-TRAIN ON TRACK FOR HISTORY: The first half of the season
was a busy one for LaMarcus Aldridge, who passed Buck Williams, Mychal Thompson and Jerome Kersey to reach second
place on the Trail Blazers all-time rebounding list. Aldridge also
surpassed Terry Porter for second place on Portland’s all-time
scoring list, and Cliff Robinson for fourth on the all-time free
throws list. In his career, Aldridge has 11,991 points and 5,182
rebounds in 623 games played (582 starts).
