From The President
Dear Members,
As I write these lines, we are living in a new year, just a few days old. Is it
possible that it is already 2015 when we still remember 2010, and even 2000,
the year of a new century, so vividly? Where have the years gone? Have we
taken the time to be consciously thankful for the past and the present good
times in our lives? This added year of life – how are we going to live it? What
difference will our life make in the lives of others?
Do you enjoy dancing? Bloomington offers at least three organized dance
clubs-There is Folk dancing with lessons at the IMU on Fridays from 6:00-9:00pm
There is Salsa dancing at the IMU on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:15pm. New
members are accepted on January 20th and on January 27th .
There is Contra dancing at Harmony School every Wednesday with lessons
at 7:30pm, and dancing from 8:00-10:30pm. You can join anytime.
Judy and I have started learning Contra dancing and it is great fun and lots of
painless exercise.
Information for you:

The nominating committee for our new officers has
been formed. Connie Clark has accepted the
nomination to be President next year. Thus we need
to elect a new VP, Secretary, and Treasurer. Each of
the present office holders is more than willing to assist
the new officer. PLEASE, if you are asked,
SERIOUSLY CONSIDER SERVING OUR CLUB AS
AN OFFICER. We are a better club when everyone is
involved and willing to share their time and their
vision. On a personal note, I was hesitant to take on
the office of president when first asked. As it has
turned out, I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve
and to get to know so many of you. There are so
many hard workers in this club that make the officers'
jobs not just easier but also more pleasant (almost
fun).
We are in need of volunteer help with desserts, setup,
and cleanup after our February, March, and April
general membership luncheons. Please contact Diane
Scholfield or Linda Burton if you can help.
Dave Meyer needs information from each Interest
Group leader by the 5th of every month. Please do not
expect him to contact you. Email him the info. by the
5th, or, due to our printer's deadline, there will be no
updated news about your interest group in that
month's newsletter.
4.
Connie Clark is consulting with Cardinal Stage,
exploring the possibility of discounts for Newcomers
Club members.
Till next time, with warm regards,
Wolfgang

their choice of accompanying dishes for the meal, be it dinner, lunch
or even breakfast. Step up to the plate! If you are interested in
hosting or participating in the these informal, small planned pot-luck
dinners of 6 to 10 guests known as Getting To Know You Dinners
