SAIS SURVEYS
 You will be receiving a survey link from SAIS (Southern Association of Independent
Schools) next week. The survey will be open for a two week window. It is vital for us to
have stakeholder feedback for our accreditation process. The survey takes about 10 minutes,
so please participate.
 After the SAIS survey, you will be directed to a link to a short survey that PBS composed,
asking for feedback about a few items such as uniforms and lunch. We need your feedback
on these things in order to make informed decisions about any possible tweaks or changes.
 Thank you so much for taking your time to participate in both parts of the survey!
Dear Early Childhood Parents,
Friday was a great day in Early Childhood. The students and teachers both had fun with our
100th and 101st day of school. I have never seen so many dots in my life with all the “101
Dalmatians” running around on Friday. It always amazes me to see children have so much fun
and learn at the same time.
There will be no school on Monday as the PBS staff will be attending the LAIS conference at
the Dunham School. This is such a great opportunity for all of us. The Key Note Speakers are
the best in their fields and the pull out schedule is unbelievable. We will have presentations on
classroom management, technology in the classroom, stations made easy, and hands on
activities that we can bring back to our own classrooms. This is such a learning time for all of
us. As always Holiday Camp will be offered. Please click here for Holiday Camp Registration.
Re-registration opens on Tuesday, February 3th. If you register during the month of
February you will save $200.00 on your registration fee. There is nothing like saving money and
attending the best school in Baton Rouge! If you have any questions please feel free to call or
come by and I will help in anyway.
Don’t forget to pick up a bottle of gummy vitamins to help our PBS Mission Teams with their
upcoming trips. We will collect these through February 9th. This is a perfect way to show your
student how important it is to show God’s love to all. Please keep these Missions Teams in your
prayers as their travel during our Winter Break.
Kindergarten Parents, Mr. Lilly and the Admissions Department will be hosting an Open
House/Preview Day for current Kindergarten parents to take a tour of the Elementary School,
attend an Elementary School Chapel and an informal Q&A session on Thursday, February
26th. (Chapel at 8:30; Tour and Q&A immediately following) Please mark this morning on
your calendars to alleviate any fears or concerns about your child moving from Early Childhood
to Elementary. We will take great care of your babies!
In Christ,
Ms. Cathy

Dear Elementary Parents,
We had another great week in the elementary! Next week should be just as great and here are a
few things that will be happening.
Remember, we will not have school on Monday due to a school wide in-service day. Parkview
Baptist teachers will be at the Dunham School for the Louisiana Association of Independent
Schools (LAIS) conference to hear a variety of speakers and some of our teachers will be
presenting. We are proud of our teachers and know that everyone listening will gain a wealth of
knowledge from their expertise!
In my letter to parents last week, I told you about an opportunity for the elementary to help out
our high school mission trips by participating in a free dress day and donating large bottles of
gummi vitamins. Friday we were able to give the mission trip coordinators $870 from the
elementary! I am so proud of our kids for taking part in helping spread God's message! I have
also extended the deadline for bringing the gummi vitamins. This Friday will be the last day
for these items and I know the elementary will come through with flying colors as usual.
You should have received an email last week about a very exciting opportunity for your
kids. Mr. and Mrs. White (Middle School teachers) will be having an acting camp Saturday,
Feb. 7. This is a great activity for our kids to learn the basics of theatre and
performance. Another great reason to attend this camp is that all proceeds received will go to
helping the Whites in their adoption process. Click here for the registration form.
4th Grade Parents, Mrs. Dieterich and the Admissions Department will be hosting an Open
House/Preview Day for current 4th Grade parents to take a tour of the Middle School, attend a
Middle School Chapel and an informal Q&A session on Thursday, February 26th. (Tour and
Q&A at 8:00; Chapel immediately following) Please mark this morning on your calendars to
alleviate any fears or concerns about your child moving from Elementary to Middle School.
I hope you all had a great weekend and we will see you Tuesday morning!

Dear Middle School Parents,
This week our 8th grade students participated in NAEP (National Assessment of Educational
Progress) testing. The results will be used as part of our Nations report card. I want to thank the
students for giving their best on the test and the teachers for their support in the testing process.
Congratulations to Anna Thibodeaux and Lauren Augusta for receiving tenth place in the
Bishop Stanley Ott Assembly Knights of Columbus patriotic essay contest. The judges also
commented on the quality of essays written by Ava Momenzadeh, Skylar Welborn, Shelby
Gratham, Tyrone Watkins, Ben Blakeney and Allie McIntire. I’m proud of each of these students
and their achievement.
Thank you to everyone that contributed to the mission trips to Honduras and New York. The
groups who will be traveling are working to prepare for their trips and the donations will go a
long way to making each of these trips a success. Please pray for the groups that will be going to
be the hands and feet of Jesus. This is a great opportunity for our students to grow through
serving others and putting into practice the truths they have learned at Parkview.
Discounted Re-Registration begins on Tuesday for current families. Please take advantage of
the discounted price! If you have any questions or problems, you can visit our Office of
Admissions/Enrollment and they can walk you through it.
8th grade Parents, Mr. Haindel and the Admissions Department will be hosting an Open
House/Preview Day for current 8th grade parents to take a tour of the High School, attend a
High School Chapel and an informal Q&A session on Tuesday, February 24th. (Tour and
Q&A 9:00-10:00, Chapel 10:00-10:40). Please mark this morning on your calendars to
alleviate any fears or concerns about your child moving from Middle to High School. We are
committed to making the transition as easy as possible!
Blessings,

Dear High School Parents,
School will be closed on Monday, February 2 for the annual Louisiana Association of
Independent Schools (LAIS) conference that will be held in Baton Rouge with other
independent/private schools like The Dunham School, Christian Life Academy, and Northlake
Christian School; all of whom have marked this day with no school for students in order for
teachers to focus on professional development.
This is a very exciting and important event for our teachers as it offers them the opportunity to
attend seminars and breakout sessions to gather new information as well as to collaborate with
and cultivate new, professional relationships with other teachers in their field and grade levels.
Our very own Mrs. Lori Kaiser, Mrs. Lisa Smith, Mrs. Amanda McAllister, Mrs. Jessica
Shelton, Mr. Yancy Wilmot, Mr. Matt Shelton, Ms. Meagan Rogers, and Mrs. Joy Holden will be
representing PBS along with many of our Middle School and Elementary teachers by presenting
sessions to the other visiting teachers as they share specific topics and skills that are going on in
our classrooms.
You may not be aware of the rigor and expectations of each of our teachers here at PBS. Our
teachers are expected to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, have the ability to clearly
share the Gospel with teens and lead them to Christ, and to be highly qualified in their teaching
area either through state certification or an advanced degree. All teachers operate on a
professional growth plan that focuses on accumulating hours of professional development and
growth in their specific field. As the field of education consistently progresses, it becomes ever
more important for our teachers to continue their education so that they may be academically
equipped to prepare our students for God's purpose and plan for their individual lives.
I often tell our teachers and parents that we are educating and preparing our students not only to
qualify for entrance into college but give them the skills and knowledge to graduate from
college. We thank you for your support and trust in what we do here at Parkview Baptist
School. We work hard every day to make your investment worthwhile. We will see you on
Tuesday, February 3 when school resumes.
For His Glory,
Ben D. Haindel
High School Division Head
