What are face- to face tutorials?
Objective of learning support

Unisa George Agency strives towards supporting
all our students in the Southern Cape Coastal
area.
• In pursuit of the above objective, Tuition support
will be offered at our George offices as follows:
- Face to face tutorial classes for
selective modules.
- Videoconferencing of classes for
selective modules.

Face to face tutorials provide students with the
opportunity to interact with a content specialist (tutor)
in an interactive, face-to-face setting.
What are Video conferenced (VC) classes?
VC classes are face-to-face tutorial classes with
tutors facilitating classes from another region via
Videoconferencing.VC sessions are also interactive
and allow students the opportunity to engage with
the tutor.
What are Literacies support?

Do I pay additional fees for tutorials?
Tutorial classes are FREE. You do not have to pay
an additional fee. You however need to pay your
registration and study fees at Student Administration.
When are tutorial classes offered?
Tutorials are offered on Saturdays from 8h30 to 17h00.
The average duration of each session is 2 hours.
Where do I attend tutorial classes?
Face to face and Video conferenced tutorial classes are
offered at George agency office, 100 Meade Street,

How will I know when tutorial classes start?
How do I contact the George Agency?
You will receive an SMS confirming the start of the tutorial
classes for the modules you have requested. You will
only receive an SMS to inform you of the start of the
tutorial class.
You are encouraged to view the schedules on our website
as we cannot guarantee you receiving the sms on time.

How will I know whether there are online support
available?
You need to ensure that you visit our regional website
regularly. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself
with the content of our regional website so that you can
benefit from the various learning support opportunities we
offer. Remember the support we offer is focused on
selective modules.
I did not find any learning support for my module?
Where can I find the learning support.
You can contact your E- tutor.
All NQF level 6 and 7 students, meaning all 2nd and 3rd
level/year students will be provided with an e-Tutor from
2014 to promote student success and student interaction.

telephone lines are extremely busy during the first 3
months of the course registration periods and may
cause students to become frustrated.
