Introduction
India has emerged as a major economic force to reckon with thereby enhancing its geopolitical
importance. This has thrown open several opportunities in the economic sector as also in the
development sector. While the country has abundant highly skilled Human Resource, exploiting
emerging economic opportunities call for paradigm shift in leadership styles. This is all the more
important given the political and economic turmoil that many developed nations as also the
developing ones are going through. Such turmoil leads to uncertainties that throw open challenges
as also opportunities. Responding to such challenges and taking advantage of resultant
opportunities call for re-visiting leadership styles. In this context, a two-day Leadership Summit on
“Managing Business During Uncertain Times - Unique challenges, Smart solutions is organized by
Sahyadri School of Management in association with Federation of Karnataka Chamber of
Commerce and Industries (FKCCI) at Sahyadri Campus Mangalore. The discussions in the two-day
long event will center around leadership styles encompassing managerial line functions and
strategy formulation.
Objectives
Deliberate on leadership styles required to steer organizations through the waves of unexpected
and unpredictable socio economic environment
Examine alternate leadership approaches to facilitate timely, proactive and situation- specific
responses to economic , social and cultural peculiarities
Reassess the implications of well -known concepts such as innovation, intellectual capital, social
responsibility, sustainability and stakeholder expectations.

The duration of the programme is two days and scheduled during February 13-14, 2015 in Sahyadri
Campus, Mangalore
