Also provides a 4-20 mA out, if required. The module is field selectable to provide Direct or Reverse action, Fail Open, Fail Close or Fail In Last Position. The speed control feature provides for independent adjustment of actuator cycle time in either direction. The Pulse By-Pass feature allows the actuator motor to fully develop its torque capability. The Deadband adjustment permits stable operation in case of rapidly changing process signals. Retransmission module The Retransmission Module provides a 4-20 mA analog feedback signal proportional to valve travel for remote position indication or control interface applications. This module requires 24 VDC loop power or a 24 VDC power supply can be furnished as an option with the actuator. The modular Power Supply requires 110 VAC power. Anti-condensation heaters Thermostatically controlled anticondensation heaters are standard in each actuator. 5-Watt in EPI-3, 10-Watt in EPI-6 through EPI-151 (110/220 VAC, 1-phase) 5-Watt in EPI-3 through EPI151 (12/24 VDC). Solid state speed control module This module is used to extend actuator cycle time. Operating times for 90 degree rotation can be increased (decrease in speed) from the rated times up to 180 seconds. Two potentiometers, one for ‘open’ and one for ‘close’, provide independent adjustments for ‘open’ and ‘close’ directions. The speed control module is available for 110 VAC or 220 VAC, single-phase voltage applications, and can be installed in EPI-6 through EPI-151 actuators. Potentiometers Interposing relays Interposing relays permit actuator control utilizing a control voltage (12 VDC, 24 VDC or 120 VAC) which may be different from the actuator’s main operating voltage. These optional devices are used to provide continuous electrical signal in relation to valve position. Resistance values of 0-5k ohms or 0-1K ohms are standard. Retransmission Module installed Control boxes A wide range of Type 4, 4X control boxes are available for either integral mounting to the actuator or for remote mounting. Options such as indicating lights, push buttons, and/or selector switches can be provided to facilitate local operation. Control devices such as reversing contactors, transformers, overcurrent or monitor relays and phase correction/ phase discrimination devices are suitable for installation within the control box to satisfy specific automation and control requirements. Fieldbus solutions Multiple non-proprietary fieldbus options are now available for use with the EPI actuator. These modules are easily incorporated into the actuator enclosure allowing for on/off or modulating control and status feedback. Fieldbus systems allow multiple actuators and other instrumentation to be linked together in a common communications loop, saving the customer design time, installation expense and maintenance costs.
