ANNOUNCEMENTS
(stand) CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS
P Blessed be the holy Trinity,  one God, who spoke light into
creation, who calls us to listen and follow, who sends us to
shine like stars.
C Amen.
P Let us come before God, confessing our sin.
(We kneel or sit. Silence is kept for reflection.)
Holy and merciful God,
C we confess that we have sinned against our sisters and
brothers and against you. We cherish the values of this
world. We cause others to stumble. The earth is wounded
by our excess. Have mercy, O God. Forgive us, renew us,
and raise us up on eagles’ wings, that we may do your will
with courage and delight. Amen.
P Hear the voice from heaven: “You are my own, my beloved.”
God gives power to the weary and strengthens the powerless.
Be cleansed, be healed, for in the name of Jesus Christ, I
declare to you the forgiveness of your sins and the revealing of
God’s reign.
C Amen.

(stand) NICENE CREED
A Living together in trust and hope, we confess our faith.
C We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of
heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from
Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one
Being with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was
incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became
truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius
Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the
scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right
hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the
living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
3
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who
proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father
and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken
through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We
acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look
for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to
come. Amen.
(* The word “catholic” with a lower case “c” means “universal.”)

Chorus:
Blessed to be a blessing, blessed to live your love.
Blessed to share with others every blessing from above.
Blessed to walk in mercy. Blessed to light the way.
Oh, blessed to be a blessing every day.
Oh my Jesus, you have blessed me.
You died for me to take my sin away.
Now you live your life in me.
And the love received is love I give away. (Chorus)
OFFERTORY PRAYER
A Merciful God,
C as grains of wheat scattered upon the hills were gathered
together to become one bread,
so let your church be gathered together from the ends of
the earth into your kingdom,
for yours is the glory through Jesus Christ, now and
forever. Amen.

GREAT THANKSGIVING

C And also with you.
P Lift up your hearts.
C We lift them to the Lord.
P Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
C It is right to give Him thanks and praise.
P It is indeed right, our duty and our joy . . . praise your name
and join their unending hymn:
SANCTUS
C Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna. Hosanna. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

THE WORDS OF INSTITUTION
THE LORD’S PRAYER
P Lord, remember us in your Kingdom, and teach us to pray.
C Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy
kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen.
(Sit) “Eat This Bread”
Eat this bread, drink this cup,
come to me and never be hungry.
Eat this bread, drink this cup,
trust in me and you will not thirst.
Hymn 472
1 Christ is the bread of life, the true bread sent from the
Father.
2 Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, but this is the
bread come down from heaven.
