Entrance Examination into JS1 for the 2015/2016 academic session This is to inform prospective candidates (WHO MUST BE 10 YEARS OLD BY 30 SEPTEMBER, 2015) seeking admission to JS1 at The International School, University of Ibadan, Ibadan for the 2015/2016 academic session that the sale of entrance application has commenced. Parents who are interested in JS1 placement for their wards are advised to check www.isi.ui.edu.ng for details. Ogundoro on 08060226663 NOTE: Hardcopies & CDs of past questions are also available in the school for interested candidates at the rate of N1000.00 only Abosede Malomo-Nejo Memorial Awards On Friday, 30 January 2015, the Abosede-Nejo Memorial Award was held in the school in honour of former Abosede Malomo, the 2001 Headgirl of the school, who passed onto glory on 18 September, 2013. The Award, which was to commemorate her 32nd post-humous birthday, was given to the five scholarship students in the school as follows: JS2 – Sogbetun Aishat JS3 – Lawal Abayomi SS1 – Ogunlade Babanifemi SS2 – Omoniyi Nicholas SS3 – Yusuf Timilehin Suffice is to note that Abosede Malomo was academically and morally excellent while in the school here and while an undergraduate Law student as the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The Management, Staff & Students congratulates the award winners. Cambridge ‘A’ Level Programme The Cambridge ‘A’ Level programme is on course. Admission is available for candidates with a minimum of five combinable ‘O’ Level credits (including English Language and Mathematics). Applications for October/November 2015 admission are welcomed from only qualified candidates. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Registration for the May/June 2015 examination is on. Students in SS2 and SS3 can avail themselves of this opportunity. The certificate is accepted in Universities, worldwide. Interested parents can contact the school for further details. Students’ Promotion Criteria Parents/Guardians are hereby reminded that the promotion criteria for the 2014/2015 session remain: i. (JS1–2/JS2–3) A minimum of seven credits at 50% and above which must include English Language and Mathematics. ii. (SS1–2/SS2–3) A minimum of five credits at 50% and above which must include English Language and Mathematics. Please note that any student who does not meet the above criteria would not be promoted to the next class. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to advise, encourage and monitor their children/wards to put up superlative performance to merit promotion. 1 Students Dress Code Students are expected to be neatly dressed at all times in School. Girl’s gowns should cover their knees while boys’ knickers should not go beyond their knees. The senior boys are not permitted to come to school in jeans or tightly sewn trousers otherwise known as pencil. The recommended colour of shoes is black + white socks. Shoes should be flat and not high heeled or high tops. Boots are not allowed. Shoes and socks which do not conform will be confiscated. Students not properly dressed would be sent back home. Parents should sew new uniforms for students annually because they are growing rapidly and old uniforms become unsuitable for them in a new class. ICT Training The ICT training programme is available in school at a cost of N8,000.00 per student. Parents who are interested in this for their wards are to pay into ISI First Bank Account Number: 2017816821 and bring teller to the Account Unit. Cross Country Race The annual cross country race would hold on Thursday, 12th February 2015. Take off point is the school and athletes will go through designated routes within the University of Ibadan. The race is a prelude to the annual Inter-House Sports final. Annual Inter-House Sports Final The school’s annual Inter-House Sports final has been scheduled to hold on Thursday, 26th February 2015 by 3.00pm in the school sports field. All parents and well-wishers are cordially invited to grace this occasion. SS3 Boarders The SS3 boarders would not be released to go on mid-term break in order for them to prepare adequately for the mock examination which would commence a day after mid-term break. Also their final/terminal examinations of WASCE/NECO/IGCSE are around the corner.
