On behalf of the EDC, Center for Diabetes Education, European Medical Writing Association
EMWA and World Association for Medical Editors WAME, it gives us great pleasure to
welcome you to the 2nd International Congress on Medical Writing, March 5 – 7, 2015, in
Ajman, UAE. You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity to join your colleagues and worldrenowned experts for the latest medical and technical information on Medical Writing. The
program will focus on cutting-edge research and evidence-based strategies to optimize medical
writing. This forum will also be an excellent opportunity for the exchange of ideas and
experiences with your colleagues from the Middle East.
Medical Writing continues to be a global issue, especially in the era of the evidence based
medicine. So the need for an overview of the medical writing industry and also get to know the
various ways and tools you may use to achieve good quality Medical Writing.
The European Medical Writing Association EMWA and the World Association for Medical
Editors WAME support this meeting. Our long-term plans include encouraging research into
medical editing, developing world-wide standards for medical editing, providing educational
workshops and meetings in various parts of the world, and fostering regional development of
medical editor groups.

The official Language of the conference is English.
There will be no simultaneous translation.
Visa Requirements:
All passengers travelling to the United Arab Emirates must be in possession of a
valid passport, valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the United
Arab Emirates. All delegates will require an entry visa before their arrival into the
United Arab Emirates. The only exceptions are nationals of the Gulf Co-operation
Council States and nationals from the countries listed below:
Europe: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,

downloaded and personalized.
The Invitation Letter will print with the congress letterhead and will include an

Currency:
The official currency is the United Arab Emirates dirham (UAE). Exchange rates

Climate:
The UAE has a sub-tropical, arid climate. May to September is summer, when temperatures range
between 40C and 48C. However, during the winter months, temperatures range from 10C to 30C.
Rainfall is predominantly in the winter and amounts to some 13cm annually.

Certificates of attendance issued by the EDC, Center for Diabetes Education,
European Medical Writing Association EMWA and World Association for Medical
Editors WAME will be given to the attendees along with CME hours if approved.
