Welcome to EVC 2015: focus on learning by training!
2015
Dearest EVC participant,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you
to the 19th European Vascular Course.
Besides the invited lectures within the
arterial, venous and access program
we have organized numerous Master
Classes, workshops and interactive
case discussion sessions.
Last but not least we have two special events: a simulated ruptured AAA
session on stage in a hybrid operating room and unique 3D vascular surgical
movies on carotid, central venous and thoracic aortic operations shown in
three dimensions.
Welcome
We also prepared three textbooks
for all our participants.You can
choose between the arterial, venous
and vascular access textbook,
containing chapters on the latest and
most updated scientific developments
and techniques in open and
endovascular surgery.
We sincerely hope that you will enjoy the instructive and educational
program of EVC 2015.
Welcome to EVC, welcome to Maastricht!

International (Endo)Vascular Master Class
MAQUET Vascular Systems in close collaboration with Vascular
International is happy to invite you for the (endo)vascular Master Classes.
In the Master Classes, unique life-like models are used to learn and train
(endo)vascular procedures. From Sunday 8th until Tuesday 10th, you will
learn the basics of endovascular procedures including iliac and aortoiliac
stenting. You will learn how to implant an antimicrobial bifurcated graft
for open AAA, open peripheral bypass procedures and different AV
access procedures. All sessions will be guided by very experienced tutors
with passion for education, who really enjoy teaching you.You have
the opportunity to register for the different Master Classes upon your
preference within these three days. At the end of each session you will
receive an official Master Class certificate.

European Venous Master Classes 2015
European Venous Master Classes
24
There are three different types of Venous Master Classes. All are meant for
physicians and nurses to become acquainted with devices and equipment
with regard to venous disease diagnostics and treatment.
The first two
are practical hands on basic skill carousels where participants are taught
how to perform compression, thermal and non-thermal superficial venous
interventions (Master Class I) or deep venous reconstructions, such as
thrombolysis, thrombosuction, stenting and ambulatory compressive
bandaging (Master Class II). Master Class III is a plenary session on
advanced ultrasound diagnostics during which class participants are taught
how to perform advanced ultrasound diagnostics in superficial and deep
venous pathology. All Venous Master Classes are organized on Sunday and
Monday and start at 15h00 and last until 18h00. There is an additional fee of
40 € / Master Class and preregistration is strongly advised because off the
limited capacity. If you have finally attended the Master Class and received
your certificate, you will be refunded by showing your certificate.

“How vascular surgery and dermatology cooperate and
enhance each other in treatment of venous diseases”:
collaborative learning.
Symposium supported by Lohmann & Rauscher
By looking at various venous pathologies from different angles, one can
improve the outcome and quality of life of these patients. Therefore there is
an urgent need for a multidisciplinary approach. In this Collaborative Learning
session, the presenters will share their experiences with you.
During this symposium different cases will be presented to you in an
interactive fashion, from a multidisciplinary point of view. This cooperation
between the different disciplines is an advantage not only for your patient
but also for you as a professional dealing on a day to day basis with this kind
of pathologies and will enhance the position for your discipline.
