The Association shall be styled the 'Guyra Show Society Ltd'.
The object of the Society shall be (inter alia) to encourage the development of
pastoral, agriculture and horticultural pursuits by means of periodical exhibitions,
at which prizes or certificates of merit shall be awarded for superiority in all
descriptions of livestock, agricultural and horticultural products, farming
implements, machinery and other manufactures, or by any other means that the
Committee may decide. When practicable, ploughing and mowing matches will
also be held under the auspices of the Society, at which prizes for superior skills
shall be awarded, in order to promote these important branches of farming
pursuits. In furtherance of the objects of the Society, a correspondence and
friendly intercourse will be conducted with kindred Societies in the Australian
States and other countries.
MEMBERSHIP
3.
The Full membership of the Society shall be from the Subscription of $30.00 or
such other amounts as the Committee shall from time to time decide upon, due
May 1 and payable in advance.
4.
The Youth Membership of the Society (under the age of 17 years) shall be from
the payment of the sum of $10.00, or such other amounts as the Committee shall
from time to time decide, due May 1 and payable in advance.
5.
The Single Membership of the Society shall be from the payment of the sum of
$20.00, or such other amounts as the Committee shall from time to time decide,
due May 1 and payable in advance.
6.
All Full financial members shall be entitled to the following privileges:
(a)
Free admission to the Annual Show and Rodeo of the Society;
(b)
Free admission for Members' children under the age of 16 years; * #
(c)
Free admission to the ground for one vehicle when driven by Member or
by anyone accompanying them; *
(d)
Free admission to ground of any horse ridden by Member;
(e)
Free right to voting at all elections, and at all General and Special General
Meetings of the Society; *
(f)
The right to become a Committeeman if duly elected;
(g)
One Members Guest Ticket, entitling the holder thereof to Free Admission
to the Ground. *
7.
All Youth financial members shall be entitled to the above privileges with the
exception of (b), (c), (e) and (g) (as indicated with an *)
8.
All Single financial members shall be entitled to the above privileges with the
exception of (b), and (g) (as indicated with a #)
9.
After the first day of May in each year, and prior to the Annual General Meeting
of the Society, all unpaid memberships shall cease.

GENERAL REGULATIONS FOR SHOW
1.
Prizes will be awarded subject to the following regulations and conditions, which
in every case shall be strictly enforced:
(a) All entries must be made on forms to be obtained from the Secretary and
must be accompanied by the prescribed entry fee (if any);
(b) All questions contained in such entry form must be answered fully, and such
form must be signed by the exhibitor or his or her authorised agent;
(c) Exhibitors of Stud Stock must, at the time of entry, state the age of their
exhibitors (in years and months if possible) up to the first day of the Show, and
also the breed and the breeder (if possible).
2.
In the classes in the horses section where ‘to be driven' appears, Sulky or Buggy
may be used.
3.
Hacks to be graded according to height.
4.
Stallions are debarred from competing as hacks.
5.
The term 'Horse' comprises Gelding or Mare, unless otherwise stated.
6.
No pet sheep shall be allowed to compete in the Fat Stock Section. All Exhibitors
of sheep must state when such sheep where last shorn.
7.
Unless otherwise stated, all exhibits of livestock must be the bona fide property
of the exhibitor at the time of entry.
8.
Horses on lease which are not the bona fide property of the exhibitor, may
compete in classes eligible to lesser. Exhibitors in these circumstances must, at
the time of entry or whenever required, produce a registered lease or agreement
to the Secretary, if called upon.
9.
No exhibits (except livestock) shall be removed from the showground before
6.00 p.m. on the second day of the exhibition, without the sanction of the
Stewards on the section. Horse and Cattle may, with such sanction, be removed
at 5.00 p.m. on the first day of the Exhibition, but same must be returned to their
respective positions by 8.00am on the second day of the Exhibition, and must
remain on the ground until 5.00 p.m. on that day unless the sanction of the
Stewards be obtained for their earlier removal. Any exhibitor not complying with
this condition shall be liable to disqualification and, in addition, if he or she
should be a prize winner, he or she shall forfeit any prize.
All prizewinning horses, and all prizewinning Led Cattle, unless otherwise agreed
to by the Head Steward, shall take part in the Grand Parade at the Show
10.
11.
All exhibits must be removed from the ground by 10.00 a.m. on the day after the
Exhibition, otherwise they may be dealt with or disposed of as the Committee
shall think fit.
12.
The Association will not in any way be responsible for the safe custody of any
exhibition in the Showground, and will not be responsible for any accident or
damage that may occur to an animal exhibited. The Association will not in any
way be responsible for any accident or damage to any other exhibit at the
Exhi-bition, and will not in any case, or under any circumstances, be liable for
any accident or damage to any person who may be a spectator at any Exhibition,

or be held responsible for any loss, damage, or mis-delivery of livestock or other
articles exhibited at the Exhibition.
13.
Judges will be empowered to award certificates in all classes where they deem
age exhibits worthy of such, and where no provision is made for prizes in the
schedule.
14.
The Prize stock will be distinguished by a blue ribbon for the first prize and a red
for second, a white for highly commended, and a green for commended. These
colours shall be worn whenever the stock are paraded. Any exhibitor refusing or
neglecting to wear or have worn the colours awarded to him or her, shall be
liable to be disqualified and shall forfeit any prize that may have been awarded
to him or her by the judges.
15.
Any exhibitor committing a breach of any of the Society's Regulations or Rules
may, in addition to any other penalty to which he or she may be liable, be
dis-qualified by the Committee for such period as the Committee may
determine. Every such disqualification shall be reported to all other Societies
belonging to, or affiliated with, the Board of Appeal and some shall extend to all
Shows held by them during the period for which it was imposed.
16.
Should any exhibit to which a prize has been awarded be disqualified, the next
exhibit on the judge's list will not necessarily obtain such a prize, but the Protest
Committee shall decide as to what shall be done in the matter.
17.
Any exhibitor who shall by word, act or deed insult any judge acting for the
Society or any officer of the Society or any Committeeman during the holding of
the Show, may be expelled from the Society if a member thereof, and whether or
not, may be disqualified from again competing at any Exhibition of the Society for
such time as the Committee shall think fit.
18.
Any person in the ring or on the showground, if requested by the Secretary or by
any officer of the Society to retire from such ring or showground, must do so
forthwith.
19.
The Committee shall have the power to alter or amend the program of, or to
abridge or postpone or cancel any Show or other functions of the Society in the
event of unfavorable weather or from any cause whatever. The Executive
Committee shall have the power at any such Shows or other functions to alter or
cancel any class of event at its discretion.
20.
No Side Shows shall be allowed on this ground unless approved by the
Committee.
21.
As regards all Side Shows etc. the Committee shall decide as to the charges to
be made thereafter and connected herewith.
22.
Exhibitors are requested to intimate as early as possible the extent of their
probable exhibits, and the space required, in order that proper accommodation
may be made.
23.
Applications to conduct sales by auction on the ground must be made to the
Committee, who shall decide as to the terms and conditions on which any sales
authorised by them can take place and all other matters appertaining thereto.
24.
Members are entitled to free camping.

PROTEST RULES
25.
The decision, determination or award of any judge in connection with any matter
which, in the opinion of the President or in the case of his absence in the opinion
of any Vice-President, was within the jurisdiction of such judge, shall be
absolutely final and conclusive and no appeal there from or protest in regard
thereto shall be received or entertained.
26.
Any protest which in the opinion of the Protest Committee has been properly
made or lodged (and if they at their discretion consider that the matter referred
to them is a proper one for a protest) shall be absolutely final and conclusive.
Each protest must be in writing and signed by the Exhibitor and must contain
the grounds for such protest and must shortly state the facts of the case. Each
protest must be accompanied by a deposit of $2, which shall be forfeited to the
Society, if the Protest Committee shall so decide.
27.
No protest shall be received or considered by the Protest Committee unless in
the opinion of such committee same has been lodged within a prompt
timeframe.
28.
If any such protest shall be upheld, the Protest Committee shall have the power
to finally decide as to the destination of prize or prizes in such event.

All competitors must provide and wear safety chaps or safety
trousers with cut resistant material, safety boots or shoes with steel
capped toes, ear muffs and full head and face protection which must
be in the correct position. Failure to do so will mean automatic
disqualification.
All competitors participate in the competition wholly and solely at
their own risk of injury to their person or property. The Society will
not be responsible for any injury that may occur. All Competitors
must sign the disclaimer on the Application for Entry.
All saws used by competitors shall be of a type approved by the
Committee. Mufflers must not be removed from any chainsaw being
used.
All officials and judges must wear ear muffs.
A first aid kit will be available at the competition site.
A minimum distance of 8-10 metres must be provided between the
competitors and spectators.

All nominations are accepted on the basic that all mandatory requirements are
met by the exhibitor
Disease control:
Ovine Brucellosis, Footrot & Johnes Disease, Johnes Disease Status - MN1or MN2.
Declarations MUST accompany each Entry.
All sheep must be ovine brucellosis-free, footrot-free and papers must be sighted
before sheep are unloaded. MN1 and MN2 sheep will be penned separately to all
other sheep.
Conditions:
(a)
Entries are to be received on Friday 20/02/2015 morning before 9:30am
(b)
Judging will commence on 9.30 am Friday 20th February 2015.
(c)
We request that exhibitors leave sheep penned until after the Grand Parade
Saturday evening 21st February.
(d)
All Sheep must be received by 7:30pm the day before judging.
(e)
Stewards will be in attendance to receive sheep from 7.30am on Friday 20th
February.
(f)
The judge is empowered to transfer sheep which they consider to be entered
in the wrong class.
(g)
No sheep infested with lice or otherwise diseased will be allowed on the
grounds.
(h)
All sheep to be bred by the exhibitor and registered as full blood with the
appropriate society.
(i)
All sheep to be by regulation fully machine shorn no earlier than 6 weeks
before the Show and the covering not to exceed 1cm in depth.
(j)
The avoidance of showing heavily pregnant ewes is much appreciated.
(k)
Stud Signs are permitted.
(l)
Feed and water buckets are required to supplied by the exhibitor.

exhibitor who wishes his wool or part thereof to be included in the District
Exhibit for the R.A.S. to leave written authority with the Head Wool Steward.
The judge can move any fleece from one class to another.
Wool to be judged on points by visual appraisal, and each fleece will carry a

We invite you to enter 1 or 2 colour photos 10” x 8” or 12” x 10” taken within a 50
kilometre radius of the towns within the Central Northern Group of Show Societies.
These being Tenterfield, Glen Innes, Armidale, Walcha, Inverell, Ashford, Barraba,
Manilla, Quirindi, Uralla, Bundarra, Guyra and Dorrigo. The winners from each
Show will then be held for a final judging in Dorrigo in November. Prizes will be
awarded by each Show Society for the individual winners and the overall winner
will receive an award from the Central Northern Zone. Winning entries will be
retained by the Show Society for judging in Dorrigo.

Exhibits (articles/garments) may be knitted, crocheted, sewn, felted etc and
must be hand crafted (use of sewing machine is permitted).
A sample of the yarn, fabric or fibre with label must be attached to each item
making up the exhibit. If a label is not available as a handspun/felted a
handwritten label with relevant details and sample will suffice.
An exhibit in this competition may consist of the work of one individual or a
group of individuals, or an organisation.
All three article/garments must have been completed within the 12 months
prior to the local show and made by the exhibitor/s.
An exhibit having won at a local show may be exhibited (the same three article/
garments) at the Group Final. The winning exhibit at the Group Final is then
eligible to compete in the State Final.
An exhibitor is only eligible to represent one Society at Group level and one
Group at State level.
An exhibit (article/garment) that has previously competed at Group level is
not eligible to compete again.
If this class is not scheduled or attracts no entries at a local show, the Show
Secretary (or delegate) may select three suitable individual exhibits and, with
the exhibitors permission, enter them in the Group judging as an exhibit
representing the particular Society concerned.
It is the responsibility of the Group Secretary and winner to co-ordinate the
transfer of the winning entry to Sydney for the State judging.

Combine in a bowl 1 1/2 cups milk 1 cup chopped apricots, 3/4 cup sultanas,
3/4 cup raw sugar, 1 cup All Bran cereal. Leave to stand for 1 hour. Add
1 1/2 cups wholemeal self-raising flour and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Place
in a greased and lined loaf tin. Cook in moderate oven 50-55 minutes.
