Insert a thin rod
through the hole at
the base of the handle.
Push to release the
handle.

Push on the outer
extension until it snaps
into place. Turn it back
and forth in order to
seat it into the slot.

Reinstall the thumbturn lock.
Pull off the door handle.

Remove the thumb-turn
lock.
Dry fit the handle before
gluing. If the thumbturn lock doesn’t move
easily, slightly flatten
the short ears pictured
here. If the lock falls
out, you’ve flattened
them too much.

Insert the inner
extension into the hole
left by the thumb-turn
lock.

Add heavy beads of
Loctite adhesive on
both grooves in the
extension.

Replace the door
handle. Allow the glue
10 minutes to set and 24
hours to bond.
Slide on the outer
extension. Make sure
that the slot lines up
with the catch.
