Martin Szwed’s world record claim and sponsorship suspension
On February 2nd, Finnish techfashion and mobile energy company Tespack held a press conference and
celebration for its brand ambassador, mountaineer Martin Szwed’s alleged world record of crossing the
Antarctica unsupported in 14 days, 18 hours and 43 minutes. Tespack was, like everyone else, amazed by
its sponsoree’s achievement.
In the following week questions started to arise questioning the authenticity of Mr. Szwed’s expedition.
These questions need to be answered and all information regarding the expedition validated. Therefore
Tespack Oy suspends Martin Szwed’s sponsorship, effective immediately, until Mr. Szwed provides proof to
support his claims, at which time Tespack will reassess Mr. Szwed’s sponsorship.
Tespack has been a proud sponsor of Mr. Szwed and hopes to continue to do so in the future, but will not
sponsor dishonest or foul athletes. Tespack wishes to help all courageous sportsmen and women with
integrity and a will to push boundaries, where its mobile energy gear can benefit the athlete and help push
the limits of human potential.
