SPEED FADE (15 Minutes)
Each competitor has 15 minutes to complete and will be judged and scored on the following:
 Difficulty of cut/Hair texture

 Outline/Edge-up

 Precision of blend
(20pts)
 Speed/Techniques
(10pts)
 Professionalism (Appearance of tools, sanitation, etc)

 Total look of model when completed

CONTESTANTS WILL BE JUDGE ON SPEED AND FINISHED PRODUCT / HAIRCUT MODEL MUST HAVE A 2

Female Barber Competition – Mohawk/Faux Hawk Design (40
Minutes)
Competitors have 40 minutes to complete a Female Mohawk/Faux Hawk Design (BY a FEMALE
BARBER). Competitor will be judged and scored on the following:






Originality
Precision of outline/edge-up
Precision of letters and or design (Must be legible, No cuts)
Professionalism (appearance of tools, sanitation, etc)
Showmanship (Barber’s style, presentation, etc)
Total look of model when completed

Each competitor has 40 minutes to execute a Traditional Cut and Style. Must incorporate some
type of scissor actions (Comb over, Part and Comb, D.A., Pomp, Afro, etc.). Contestant will be
judged and scored on the following:





Degree of difficulty (hair Length, Shear Techniques, etc.)
Precision of Part and Edge Up (a.k.a. Outline)
Styling Techniques (Blow drying, Products applied, Finishing touch)
Professionalism (Appearance of tools, sanitation, etc.)
Total look of model when completed

 Precision of outline itself
 Precision of design/letters/portrait
(Must be legible and recognizable)
 Features, Scale & Proportion (Does it look right?)
 Professionalism (appearance of tools, sanitation, etc)
 Total look of model when completed

PLEASE NOTE: Competitors must be at least 18 years of age to enter. The competition fee
includes a one-day exhibit hall entry for the competitor and their model(s). (One model per
battle).
Each competitor must have their own sanitized equipment:




Clippers
Trimmers
Razors
Brushes
CT Barber EXPO reserves the right to cancel or rescheduled the event.
OVERALL COMPETITION RULES
1. All contestants must bring a live model and barbering tools in order to participate in
competition. The competition fee includes a one-day exhibit hall entry for the competitor and
model. Model numbers will be given to all participating models once confirmed and check in at
the registration area.
2. All models' hair must be cut at competition. Competitor is not allowed to cut, trim, shape or
preset model's hair before the competition begins. Semi-permanent color, permanent color,
light color sprays and chalks are allowed unless otherwise noted. Barber must show a
transformation of the model's hair. The judges will inspect model's hair during pre-judging or
during check-in. Violation of this rule will result in the deduction of points and/or
disqualification from competition.
3. All contestants must check in at the registration area at least one hour prior to the battle. If
contestant is late, they will forfeit their place in the competition and their paid entry fee or fees.
Please look for “Check In” when you arrive to the battle.
4. All contestants will have a specific time to complete their particular cut and style. Judging will be
conducted on a visual basis only. Judges will use a point system on a scale of one (lowest
possible score) to ten (highest possible score). If there is a tie in a category or prize placement,
the judges will determine the final winner.

EXPO, or anyone authorized by you and CT Barber EXPO, of any and all photographs, which you
and CT Barber EXPO have this day taken of me for any purpose whatsoever. All negatives and
positives, together with the prints/digital photos, and videos shall constitute your and CT
Barber EXPO property, solely and completely. I release all images, video, or digital recording
that contain me as well as my name and CT Barber EXPO presented by Oster by which it may be
used for marketing, promotional, or sell publicly or privately and there will be no financial
compensation provided to me. I release you and CT Barber EXPO of any injuries or accidents
that may occur at any event they host.
