PROE EVENTS IN 2015
This year PROE MOSSELBAAI changes into a series of boutique events!
On Saturday 28 February THE FRAGRANCE FEST will be celebrated at various venues along
the charming Fragrance Route close to Great Brak River. There is much to see and do - and to ensure
that you won't get lost, a Fragrance Fest Map with contact details of the participating venues as well
as travel directions can be printed from www.proemb.co.za.
Saturday 28 February HAKUNA MATATA: 2 km scenic walk on a game farm with 6 stops where bites
and juice / wine and canapés will be served. Walk from 06h30 (arrive until 07h30) at your own pace
@ R45 (until 09h30), sunset walk with wine pairing @ R135 (arrive 16h30-19h00; 20h00-21h00
picnic, open until 22h00). If sunny bring along a hat, sun protection and comfortable shoes. If rainy
bring an umbrella, suitable shoes and a waterproof jacket. Limited number of tickets available and
due to catering all tickets must be bought in advance. No credit card facilities. Weekend

Saturday 28 February 08h00-16h00 KATTEKWAAD on the edge of Friemersheim: Locally produced
olive oil and olives; hydroponic salad and veggies from ELDERS; butter and mutton from

Saturday 28 February 08h30-14h30 FRIEMERSHEIM: Stalls with food, craft and local products along
Kretzen Street.
 Festive atmosphere in quaint Friemersheim with numerous stalls stretching from the church
to the nursery. Lavender, herbs, home-made fig jam, baked goodies, pineapple beer and
lavender infused bites. Candles, flower arrangements, T-shirts and posters with an ocean

 The Fragrance Quilt: Inspired by the natural beauty of the Friemersheim area and created by
the Economic Stream of the Friemersheim Women's Forum. A mixture of green, pink and
creamy hues; pure cotton; 200 cm x 200 cm. This unique handmade item will be on display
at the Women’s Forum stall in Kretzen Street, Friemersheim during the Fragrance Fest on
Saturday 28 February. Raffle tickets will be sold there from 08h30-14h30 and until 22 March.


The Surfer Kids NON-Profit uses surfing as a medium to reach out and teach important life
skills to young children in Friemersheim. They have been working in this historic rural town
since 2010, lately with the help of some German volunteers. Look out for their stall on

Saturday 7, 14 and 21 March. TOWNSHIP ANGELS: Hein Marais presents a papier mâché course
(create a fruit bowl) in Mossel Bay at Township Angels in Church Street (next to Mossel Bay
Advertiser) over 3 Saturdays (7, 14 and 21 March) 09h00-12h00 @ R150 for the course. Hopefully
some people will donate their papier mâché fruit bowls to be auctioned in aid of the Heart-to-Heart
Care Centre on Thursday 16 April when Rauch Gertenbach Photo Gallery across the street will have
their monthly meeting and cocktail party from around 17h30. Not a must though! Hein’s newly
decorated shop will be re-launched at the same time with snacks, wine and a bit of music. Contact

Saturday 11 April - JAKKALSVLEI 3rd PROE event with music, good food and lots of wine, this year

Thursday 16 April - RAUCH GERTENBACH PHOTO GALLERY & TOWNSHIP ANGELS event with
auction of papier mâché fruit bowls in aid of the Heart-to-Heart Care Centre.
Friday 1 May and Saturday 2 May - KLIPHEUWELPADSTAL & COOL BAY TASTING VENUE: This year

Saturday 9 May – SEEFF CHARITY EVENING in aid of the ACVV with a gourmet menu by chef Gareth

of several items at the exclusive The Ochre Venue (sponsored by Café Gannet for the occasion).

Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October - STOEPSIT & SANDPIPER COTTAGES: Stoepsit will be hosting
their 3rd PROE event and Sandpiper Cottages their 2nd. Expect lots of fun and activities during this
