Friendship Walk
As part of our Library’s
Centennial Celebration,
The Friends of the Library
are delighted to announce
(in response to popular
demand), that Memorial
Bricks will once again be
available for the Friendship Walk in front of the Library. Bricks may
be purchased to honor family, friends, business associates, and
others. The bricks, at a cost of $100 each, will be engraved (up
to three lines) with a message of your choice and will be a
tax deductible donation. The proceeds will support our Library
programs. Sign up forms will be available at the Library
beginning on May 15, and will also be mailed to your homes
in the summer newsletter.

present a series of community
conversations in honor of the
Town’s 375th Anniversary.
On the third Sunday of each month from April to November,
Sunday Story conversations will shine the spotlight on
individuals who have made a significant impact on our
community. The first discussion will be with Jane Minerva who
served as the Director of the Cutchogue New Suffolk Free Library
for 31 years. A visionary who brought the Library from a one
room building through its first renovation, Jane will share stories
about establishing the Library as a community center as
well as anecdotes about life in the Town of Southold. Please visit

Learn ‘Pysanky’ the ancient
Ukrainian art of egg decorating.
This old-world craft has been used for
centuries to decorate delicate egg shells
with intricate designs and symbols using
beeswax, kistka, eggs and dyes. A Pysanky
Kit is provided for use in the class and
participants will take those materials
home to create more art. Permanent dyes
are used, please wear appropriate attire.

This book is a thrilling adventure through the pine barrens of eastern
Long Island, the heights of the Catskill Mountains, and the depths
of subterranean particle-beam tunnels hundreds of feet below Long
Island. The author, a retired environmental health scientist worked
for the Suffolk County Department of Health Services. His inspiration
for this book comes from his time stationed at a well-known
national laboratory, monitoring a radiation leak from their onsite
nuclear facility.

Looking for the perfect community service opportunity,
without having to leave your home? We are looking for
readers out there to write book reviews for our patrons
in order to increase awareness of great available titles!
Each book review is equivalent to two hours of
community service. All genres welcome!

transplanting into our outside Centennial Garden. We
will be starting a variety of seeds and placing these in
our windowsill garden until time for outside planting.
