(B) PROJECT STATUS

FREIGHT OPERATIONS INFORMATION SYSTEM (FOIS)
IREPG
E-Payment facility for 08 new customers was commissioned during January 2015.
The E-payment facility has been provided to a total of 823 customers. In addition,
facility of 60 existing customers was also extended due to expiry of LC/BG.
A total of `7798 crores (`251.55 crores per day) of freight payment was done
through E-payment during January 2015 which is around 77.11 % of the total
freight.

PASSENGER RESERVATION SYSTEM
PRS is working at 3153 locations with 11,288 PRS terminals. On an average, 4.91
crore passengers are being booked in PRS with average Passenger Earnings of
`2856.52 crores during January 2015. In the corresponding period of January 2014,
total 4.92 crore passengers had been booked from 9333 PRS terminals at 3043
Locations resulting in total earnings of `2522.34 crore.
WAP & SMS Gateway for PRS and NTES Website
The SMS Gateway project for sending SMS alerts to passengers in case of status
change in the PRS tickets, as compared to the initial booking status (For ex. W/L to
RAC, RAC to Confirm, W/L to Confirm) was launched by Hon’ble Minister of
State for Railways on 03.03.2014.
The Pre-Chart SMS alerts are being sent once a day, beginning from 5 days before
the journey date and also after post charting (which is done approx. 3-4 hours
before train departure).
The post chart SMS alerts convey the actual Berth No., Coach No. and RAC Seat
No. for those passengers whose final Charting status has changed as compared to
the initial booked status.
In case of any ticket upgradation or seat re-allotment SMS alerts are being sent.
On an average approximately 1.6 lac SMS alerts are being sent on daily basis.
Next Generation E-ticketing (NGeT)
Number of maximum concurrent users on nget.irctc.co.in as on 22nd January, 2015

DR System for PRS
Data is being replicated from all the primary systems to Secunderabad DR system.
DR Drills on production data with live transactions from counters and IRCTC
Internet booking has been carried out from Chennai. Approximately 11000
transactions have been executed on the DR system and switched back to the
primary system. Secondary DR links are being developed on Railtel network.

UNRESERVED TICKETING SYSTEM
Unreserved Ticketing System including expansion to A,B,C,D,E category
stations
A total of 58.54 crore passengers were served, resulting in total UTS earning of
Rs. 1454.73 crores during Jan, 2015 as compared to 61.89 crore passengers and
UTS earning of Rs. 1307.29 crores during Jan’ 2014, thereby showing a decrease
of 5.41% in total passengers and an increase of 11.27% in total earnings,
respectively.
On an average, UTS served 1.89 crore passengers and earned `46.92 crore each
day in January 2015.
At present UTS is functioning at 5826 locations and running at 11244 Counters.
Automatic Ticket Vending Machines and their Expansion across Zonal
Railways

COMPUTERIZED CONTROL CHARTING
COA Application is running in all the 77 divisions/area Control Offices of the Indian
Railways. Integration between COA and FOIS, adjoining COA, NTES and ICMS
is completed in all 68 divisional control offices.
New Time table schedules were created in ICMS application, and the data was
successfully transferred to the COA application to ensure updated time table
availability with the section controllers.

INTEGRATED COACHING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ICMS)
The ICMS application is hosted on central server located in CRIS, Chanakyapuri
accessed over FOISNET. It is a browser based application and can be run from any
client on FOISNET. Approx. 1000 clients are running on FOISNET on thin
clients/PCs. This has three applications as Punctuality Analysis and Monitoring
(PAM), Coaching Operations Information System (COIS), Coach Maintenance
Management (CMM) pilot.
First two modules of application are already deployed over IR, third module
Coaching Maintenance Management (CMM) pilot was made Go-live at three pilot
depots namely, BCT/WR, NDLS/NR and LKO/NR. The CMM application is built
on the core of an EAM software MAXIMO.
Apart from this the Central
Application has been made available to all Zonal Railway HQs on 25.11.2013. It
has modules on Passenger complaints, Contracts monitoring, Machinery & Plant,
Coach Condemnation, Pit charts, Special drives, Project tracking, Trial
monitoring, Budget trains and Documentation.

ICMS infrastructure was set up in 2005-06 and asset has become overdue
replacement as servers are running 9th year. Sanction of the Detailed estimate has
been received.
Five new reports have been implemented for CMM in various depots.
Detailed estimate for rollout of CMM project has been sanctioned by Railway
Board.

National Train Enquiry System
The National Train Enquiry System (NTES) is meant for providing updated
arrival/departure information of passenger trains to the public through internet
website (www.trainenquiry.com/enquiry.indianrail.gov.in) and nationwide rail
enquiry number 139. Recently, new web interface alongwith mobile interface has
been launched. NTES is the core application feeding information to all interfaces.
A Mobile App & Desktop App for Window 8.0 platform has been developed and
launched. A mobile Application for Android has also been launched.
Hardware of NTES is nearing the end of its codal life, running 7th year.
Detailed Estimate for Assets replacement and essential upgradation of National
Train Enquiry System (NTES) including WebNTES at the cost of Rs 4.90 Crore
has been sanctioned by Railway Board. MOU for this work has been signed by NR
associate finance and file has been put up for GM/NR for approval.

Complaint Management System (CMS)
The Web Complaint Management System (Web CMS) can be accessed
through the IR Portal home page, www.indianrailways.gov.in , complaint
and suggestions section. It can also be directly accessed through the URL,
http:// www.customercare.indianrailways.gov.in. Divisional Work Flow
has been made online so that divisional level escalation can be configured.
The SMS based Complaint Management System is also operational.

E- PROCUREMENT SYSTEM (EPS)
Implementation of E-Procurement System on all 16 Zonal Railways, 7 Production
Units (viz. RCF, ICF, DLW, CLW, DMW, RWF and RCF/RBL) and RDSO,
RAILTEL, Core/ALD and Metro Railway, Kolkata completed. More than 6.46
Lakh tenders have been uploaded by different Railways. 24,360 vendors have been
registered on the system.
E-Auction module software has been implemented in CR, ER, ECR, ECoR, NR,
NCR, NER, NFR, NWR, SR, SCR, SER, SECR, SWR, WR, WCR Including 4 PUs
RCF, ICF, DLW, RWF. Over 5382.92 crore worth of material auctioned through EAuction system.
Extension of E-Procurement System to Depots, Divisions and other units
The detailed estimate has been sanctioned by Railway Board on 31.12.3013. MOU
between NR and CRIS has been finalized on 28.03.2014. IREPS has been extended
to 236 Depots/Divisions in Zonal Railway.

ASSET MANAGEMENT
LOCO SHED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS)
As desired by Board, report on LMS & SLAM was forwarded to Railway Board
on 29.5.2014. It is important that the roll-out of LMS is sanctioned early.
Expenditure is being incurred on maintenance of the pilot system and the
discontinuity between the sanction of the pilot and the roll-out is leading to
unlearning and cost overruns without commensurate benefits being realized. The
revised estimate is also with board for sanction. O&M estimate for 2014-15
amounting to Rs. 84.85 lakhs has been sent to CME/NR. It is requested that
Revised Estimate of the pilot and roll-out project of LMS be sanctioned early by
Board.

FREIGHT MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT MODULE (FMM)
Roll-out of the Freight Maintenance Management System is awaiting Board’s
sanction. It is important that the project is sanctioned early with a view to avoid
cost overruns on account of pilot maintenance. The revised estimate of FMM pilot
is also with board for sanction. In addition, O&M Estimate amounting to Rs.2.25
Crs. for the period of 2012-13 to 2014-15 has been submitted to FOIS for sanction.
It is requested that Revised Estimate of the pilot and roll-out project of FMM be
sanctioned early by Board.
SOFTWARE FOR LOCOMOTIVE ASSET MANAGEMENT (SLAM)
Application is running in TKD and GZB loco sheds. Pilot Phase completed in July
2014 vide letter no. 2013/CRIS/NDLS-HQ/CMS/Implement/SLAM/0048/Pt-1,
Dated 23.07.2014.
Proposal for extending 4 shed in SLAM i.e. BRC, BL, AJNI & BZA, at an
estimated cost of Rs 96.0 Lakh. Tender document under vetting.

WORKSHOP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (WISE PHASE II )
LILUAH:Distributions of all the hardware items to different specified locations
have been completed.Net connection of BSNL leased line which was out of order
for a considerable period has had been restored. Problems in various Applications
of the system in shops have been identified to a great extent and necessary
arrangements are in the offing to solve those issues. Data entry processes in AB/l,
Rep. Bay/MR are in progress and so also staff detail entry in A-shop, H-shop, Eshop, C-shop, K-shop, L-shop
LOWER PAREL: All incoming coaches are entered in the system. Work Orders
are created by all section. Work Orders are released and job allocation, job
assignment and time confirmation is carried out by almost all section except CR1C
(since 29/10/2014) and CR2C & F (since 01/01/2015) having difficulties in job
allocation and partly time confirmation. Due to MMIS integration issue material
assignment is not possible for all shops.48 Nos. New RFID cards received are yet
to be distributed as their personal data, family data and address data are not
uploaded in the system.55 Nos. new RFID cards awaited after printing. Data
already sent for printing of cards. One Think client is not working properly, even
after loading of new host file. Intermittent Network failure is frequent causing
slackness in work.
CHARBAGH: After having updated the vendor master and material master, we
have been able to withdraw material from the system successfully. Likely to be
more withdrawal from the system from this month i.e. Feb 2015. Basic Revision
Training to desired users are completed last week. All the rolling stocks of DSL
shop and DEMU were turned out from wise system. We are still working to
restore network in Lab. Employee master is completed. Out of 97 secs 67 secs are
marking their regular attendance in Wise system. Remaining 30 secs are also likely
to be ready for marking their attendance shortly. RFID cards data are also under
preparation and most likely by 15-2-2015, will be sent for making RFID cards.
Lalaguda:Due to renovation of Computer Center WISE couldn’t be effectively
used for a week this month. Generated 310 IR Sheets and Job Cards. Deficit items

are mapping with transportation code, for generating Deficiency report. Total No.
of Rolling stock detached to workshop is 119 and Rolling stock returned to

Generation of indents using local software is discontinued. Approximately 20
additional PL No’s were included in the material management module. In this
month, Non-stock Indents created for 28 items and generated Stock Indents for
250 items approximately. Vendor details and Stock master are being updated.
Updating of Staff list has been done partly in to WISE-HRESS.04 new issues
raised in SOLMAN (8000001586, 1590, 1596, 1602).14 Issues raised in
SOLMAN were closed. (8000001148, 1235, 1456, 1455, 1241, 1230, 0365, 1099,
1277, 1281, 0356, 1224, 1517, 1232).
Raipur:All Stock Indents are generated in WISE only. Additional PL No’s were
included in the material management module. Vender details and Stock master are
being updated. 10 New employees are added in the DATA BASE. 5
Retired/Expired employees are separated In Body I ,Body II , Wheel ,Bogie
,Fitting ,Airbreak Gang wise attendance report generated. Applying Leave

HMIS APPLICATION FOR RAILWAY HOSPITALS
A Committee has been formed in Board to scrutinize all aspects of the application.
TURNKEY IMPLEMENTATION OF ERP AT ICF, CHENNAI
Project Completion Certificate for the Developmental phase of the project was
delayed due to resolution of certain issues in Inventory module . Early issue of PCC
is being considered keeping in abeyance the pending 2 MM issues as ICF could not
be accommodated into SAP processes as per ICF’s legacy requirements however
reserving the right of CRIS to make appropriate deductions from the SI within
Contractual conditions of CRIS LOA issued on M/s L&T infotech.
G.M/CRIS had met General Manager/ICF who stressed on the action plan for the
unused functionalities of the implemented Phase-I modules in MM,PP,PM,QM.
This is under preparation in association with IT Centre .
For extension of O&M Contract for ICF ERP Project for the period from
26.04.2014 to 25.04.2015 along with the revised estimate for the same has been
duly vetted by CRIS Finance. Justification for the extension of the post of
G.M/CRIS beyond 2/12/2014 till the end of the O&M period has been given to ICF
for consideration. Based on the reply from ICF, a revised estimate for the
supplementary O&M will be prepared and MOU will be executed with the approval
of Competent Authority.

A payment of Rs. 26,60,031/- has been released by RCF-RBL on 19.12.2014
against bill no. 803 raised by CRIS on 27.11.2014.
Bill for quarter ending 30.09.12 alongwith projections for next two
quarters(Oct-Dec14) & (Jan-March15) against bill no. 806, amounting to Rs.
9,23,90,000/- was sent to RCF-RBL on 01.01.2015. Payment has been received

All India RPF Security Helpline for passengers
Railway Board had decided to launch a Manual RPF Security Helpline in Northern
Railways in the month of February 2014. Railway Board through an order subsequently
decided to extend the manual RPF Helpline as initiated in Northern Railway to other
Railways as well. The order however did not mention anything about the future course
of action for IT enabled RPF Security Helpline Project sanctioned as Plan Head 17
Project in 2010-11.

EEMS – Electrical Energy Management System
Scope of Work is development of Website for Centre of Excellence (COE) and Pilot
demonstration of Energy Efficient Technology on IT platform.

TDMS – Traction Distribution and Management System
