EYE INSTITUTE
The Miller School ranks in the top third among U.S. medical
schools in total research funding awarded, with UHealth/
Miller School physicians and scientists currently pursuing
more than 1,600 projects with $254 million in external grants
and contracts. Many of these studies have led to clinical trials
that directly change patient care. They work daily in 26
departments and more than 15 interdisciplinary centers
discovering the keys to cures.

one of the premier providers of eye care in the world. As the
largest center of ophthalmic care, research, and education
in the southeastern United States, Bascom Palmer is home
to more than 250,000 patient visits and more than 12,000
surgical procedures each year.
In addition to services provided on the medical campus in
Miami, UHealth doctors treat patients at more than a dozen
locations throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach,

access point to the campus, at the intersection of NW 12th Avenue and
N to a parking facility.

Holtz Children’s Hospital is one of the largest children’s
hospitals in the southeastern United States. Staffed by UHealth/
Miller physicians, Holtz Children’s Hospital specializes in

The Metrorail Civic Center Station is adjacent to the medical center and
within walking distance to any building on campus. In addition, the
Miami Trolley provides a number of stops around campus and connects
with Metrorail. The medical center is also serviced by Metrobus routes.

It’s easier than ever to visit UHealth physicians. Park at the
Clinical Research Building garage (1120 NW 14th Street) for
$4 (half the regular price), then ride the air-conditioned shuttle
bus. The bus driver will validate your parking ticket. UHealth
shuttles go to University of Miami Hospital, Schoninger Research
Quadrangle, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and
University of Miami Hospital and Clinics. They run approximately
every 10 minutes and stop at designated entrances. This service
is free of charge and operates between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
