BUTTERFLY RAINFOREST:
PREPARING FOR FLIGHT EXHIBITION
WEDNESDAY 1 APRIL
10 APRIL - 11 MAY
With a legacy stretching back nearly 50 years, this true
reggae legend is still standing as one of the prime movers and
continuing shapers of modern music.
Deanna Gabiga is an American fibre artist and metalsmith
based in Tokyo, creating sculptures and large scale installation
pieces utilizing textile techniques.
With timeless hits including “Wonderful
World, Beautiful People”, “I Can See
Clearly Now”, “The Harder They Come”,
“You Can Get It If You Really Want”
and “Many Rivers to Cross”, his songs
opened the door for reggae’s journey
to being a universal sound, embraced
and adapted in cultures around
the world.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Cliff
released ‘Rebirth’ in 2012, winning the
Grammy Award for Best Reggae album.
“I have not become the artist I believe
I am,” he told Rolling Stone last year,
“I want to become a stadium act!
‘Rebirth’ is the next step in that
direction, so be warned – tickets
to this show are sure to sell out.

From mid-March, Deanna will be in

travels in Australia, Deanna has created
designs specific to butterfly species
native to Far North Queensland. Come
and watch the rainforest grow. Follow
the life-cycle of tropical butterflies
as they prepare for flight. Then after
the installation is done, learn some of
Deanna’s fascinating techniques in a
