Mildred Whalen, (770) 603-8266 Loren Michelle Johnson, was born to Rev. Ferrun and Lorilei Johnson in December 1993. She is the oldest of 3 girls. Ever since she was young, her family knew that she had a love for school, her community, and leadership. Loren has been a part of numerous extra-curricular clubs from elementary school through college including National Honor Society, Student Government Association, and currently Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society of Education. She is currently a senior at Georgia State University. She will be graduating in May with her Bachelor’s of Science in Middle Level Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Reading. Her goals for post graduation are to teach middle school math and within a few years move up north to pursue her Master’s degree. Besides her education, her life revolves around the hard work she does within the church. She has been active with the Young People’s Division of the AME Church since she was young. From singing and playing in her church choir to being the President of the Atlanta North Georgia Conference to being a current candidate to become the next Connectional YPD 1st Vice President, Loren has truly grown to become the God-fearing woman that she is today. She credits the YPD as well as her mentors and parents with preparing her to face the challenges of this world. Without a doubt, Loren is still growing strong. She looks to God for guidance in times of trouble. One verse that she lives by is 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 4 BIG BETHEL A.M.E. CHURCH Mrs. Dorothy J.
