Message from the Prez
Dear Members and Friends,
The potters have been busy creating beautiful hand-made bowls for the art
center's largest fund raiser, Souper Saturday. This wonderful event will be
on March 14, from 11:30-1:30 pm at the Senior Center. Be sure to get your
tickets, no sales at the door. The board picked the type and color of flooring
that will be installed in the art room and gallery in April. This renovation is
made possible by our members' donations, support, and lab fees. It will be
a hard surface, and much easier to keep clean.
Did you know PAC has a Face Book page? If you would like to visit, go to
our website and click on Face Book. Anyone that signs in can post comments or pictures—a great way to stay in touch.
The nomination committee has been formed, and consists of Diane Avila,
Bill Marshall, Barbara Ann Ramsey, and Mary Ryan. Any of our members
who would like to be on the board are encouraged to contact these board
members. Elections are in June, and the ballot will be in the May/June edition of Art News.
We are starting to look for a logo design that will work well in print and digital formats. Anyone can submit a design that includes “Paradise Art Center” or the abbreviation, “PAC.” Deadline for submissions is April 30th. Designs can be put in my box or emailed to me at [email protected].
See you at Souper Saturday!
Kind Regards, Cathryn Hudin
The Family Community Resource Center, a
Youth for Change program in Paradise, needs
someone with a BIG HEART!
The Center provides a place where families can come for free and essential
goods such as diapers, clothing and food, as well as parenting classes,
planned parenthood information and classes and activities for children.
At the Paradise Family Community Resource Center there is a long, blank
wall in a hallway that is crying out for a mural! The folks at the Center are
hoping that one of our Paradise Art Center artists will volunteer to tackle the
project and create a wonderful mural. They envision the mural to be welcoming and centered around the family and youth.
Although the organization is not able to pay the artist for their work, they will
pay for the paint. They are also able to provide a tax receipt for the time
spent on the project.
Are you interested in helping out this wonderful organization? If you are, or
if you would like additional information, call Kelly Doty, 872-3896 ext. 126.
