RomArt 2015 GUIDELINES ART. 1 - PURPOSE OF THE EVENT The Cultural Association Artiamo Events, Bari, R. Bovio, 20, hereafter named Organizer, announces the 1st edition of RomArt 2015, International Biennial of Art and Culture: It will be held at the Roma Fair from 15 to 18 May 2015. The event is aimed at the promotion and enhancement of Contemporary Art and Culture. ART. 2 - OPENING TIME During the event it will be observed the following opening time: For exhibitors: May 15 from 8 am to 8 pm May 16 and 17 from 9 am to 8 pm May 18 from 9 am to 2 pm For visitors: May 15 from 5 pm to 7 pm (the pavilion will be closed at 8 pm) May 16 and 17 from 10 am to 7 pm (the pavilion will be closed at 8 pm) May 18 from 10 am to 1 pm (the pavilion will be closed at 2 pm) ART. 3 – THE CONTEST The Contest is open to all artists and students of all schools and academies of art, regardless of age, sex, nationality or other qualification and can participate with one or more works in one or more sections, upon application and approval of the Review Committee set up by the organizer. The Art Sections are: -Painting -Sculpture and Installation -Graphics -Photography -Video and Digital Art -Performance All works will be carried out in complete freedom of style and technique, and can be created in any material. The works may make use of sound, lighting, video and mechanical or electrical movements, as well as of human interactions in the case of Performance. The artist who will choose the Sculpture and Installation section, if he/she will be selected for the event, will provide the organizer all the materials needed for the construction work. In the Graphics section there will be displayed works which do not exceed 50 copies. For the section Photography, all media and all types of realization are allowed. The works realized directly be included in the section Video and Digital Art. In this section you can use all the support necessary for the creation or presentation of the work, such as: computers, tablets, smartphones and related apps and dedicated software, interactive devices and any other necessary tool for the realization of the work; dangerous materials that do not comply with the current safety rules are forbidden. The members of this section, in the selection phase,will well represent the complexity of the work and all they need for the preparation of the work, as well as the space required for the exposure and the proper function of the work itself. The videos, that do not exceed 20 minutes in length, will be exhibited through a youtube channel dedicated to the event and must be sent to the organizer ahead of time, by means of DVD in high quality and in formats that are compatible with the most popular reading. At the same time a picture / cover is required in order to be included in the catalog of the event; the same will be made both in paper and digital format on magnetic media. All materials and/or equipment for the proper exhibition of the works, especially for the sections of Sculpture and Installation, Performance, Video and Digital Art, will be provided to the organizer by the author, except for the material of simple availability such as nails, screws, etc.. For the performance section there is no limit on the number of participants; in any case, the project work must be presented to the Organizer in the selection phase in order to decide its feasibility. The artist or group of artists may can use all the supports necessary for the creation or presentation of the work (material simple, mechanical or digital). This will be provided by himself and unsafe materials that do not comply with the current safety rules are forbidden. If images and/or music covered by copyright and rights will be used the Organizer will be exonerated by any legal obligation. It will be required a written and signed statement by the person concerned which will free the Organizer by all the obligations required by law. ART. 4 - JURY The vote of the exhibited works will be carried out by three separate juries for the assignment of the same three categories of awards: 1. Technical Jury 2. Virtual Jury 3. Emotional Jury 1. The Technical Jury is made up of a pool of experts and practitioners who will give a technical opinion on the works on display, declaring a winner for each section admitted to the competition. These are the members (alphabetical order): - Francesco Gallo Mazzeo (Art Critic) - Antonio Lagioia (Art Director for the Sangiorgio Art Investments Ltd.) - Francesco Miceli (Collector) - Fabio Donato (Photographer) 2. The Virtual Jury is composed of virtual visitors of the web which, through a vote expressed on the site www.romart.org connected to social, award the prize "I LIKE YOUR ART" to those who receive the most votes ever. 3. The Emotional Jury is composed of the visitors at the exhibition and will express their preferences through the admission ticket, obtained after registering on the site www.romart.org; They will assign the "AUDIENCE PRIZE" at work most votes ever. ART. 5 - PRIZES The budget of the Technical Jury Prize is as follows: - Prize RomArt 2015 The awards listed below will be awarded to the winner of each section and will be offered by the organizer and / or by the sponsors. Painting € 2,000.00 Sculpture and Installation € 2,000.00 Photography € 2,000.00 Graphic € 2,000.00 Video and Digital Art € 2,000.00 Performance € 2,000.00 The Virtual Jury Prize is as follows: -Prize I LIKE YOUR ART This award consists of a plaque and it will be awarded by a panel of virtual visitors who, through social networks connected to the corporate website RomArt 2015, will reward the artist who will collect the largest number of "I LIKE". The awards ceremony will take place during the event. The Emotional Jury Prize is as follows: -Prize VISITORS This award consists of a plaque and it will be assigned by the visitors of the exhibition to the artist who will receive more consensus. The vote will be expressed through the entrance ticket. SPECIAL PRIZES -Prize INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION This special award is reserved for those who take part in the competition with at least two works, also in different sections, except for the Performance section. The prize consists of a free participation to a major international exhibition organized abroad in the year 2016, including set-up and transportation of the works (except for the voluminous works and installations that require special conditions of transportation and / or construction, for which will be taken agreements for any contribution with the artist), and visibility in a website. Specifically, it will be considered voluminous massive sculptures which exceed one meter in height and 30 cm on each side of the basis, as well as paintings the measures of which exceed 130 cm. per side including the frame. The prize is offered by Sangiorgio Art Investments Ltd, the sole judge of the premium and unique subject with which to make more specific arrangements. -Prize ART BUSINESS This special award is reserved for those who take part in the competition with at least two works, also in different sections, except for the Performance section. The prize consists in obtaining a one-year contract with the Sangiorgio Art Investments Ltd., with inclusion in the special section of exclusive artists; SanGiorgio will be responsible for the promotion of works of the winner. This contract will be governed by a specific agreement between the parties and it will last, at the least, one year. This will be a great opportunity for the winners who will now have the great opportunity to become a part of the national and international market thanks to the important network of sales of Sangiorgio Art Investments and its "Collectors Club". The prize is offered by Sangiorgio Art Investments Ltd, the sole judge of the premium and unique subject with which to make more specific arrangements. -Prize ART MAGAZINE This special award is reserved for those who take part in the competition with at least two works, also in different sections, except for the Performance section. The award consists of a newspaper article, complete with biography and photos of the most significant works of the winning artist, to be published in the first issue of the magazine available "Lagioiadell'Arte" published by Sangiorgio Art Investments Ltd. The award indicated above will be offered by Sangiorgio Art Investments Ltd, the sole judge of the premium and unique subject with which to make more specific arrangements. - Prize ART LABEL (prize to be defined) In order to participate in this contest you must send to the organizing secretary ([email protected]) a creative proposal to realize the label of a line of wine that will be produced by an important wine house whose name will not be known until closing applications. The wine house will also be the sole judge of the competition. The winner will also receive a prize of € 2,000.00, offered by the same wine house. Participation is limited to only the exhibiting artists in RomArt 2015 International Biennial of Art and Culture and is not to be considered open to artists who have not passed the selection for admission. - Prize ROCK 'N' ART (prize to be defined) Gibson, a world leader in the manufacture of electric guitars, now "Gibson USA," built in 1974 in Nashville, announces the award "ROCK 'N' ART 'creating a magical blend of Art and Rock. In order to participate in this competition you must send to the organizing secretary, a creative proposal to carry out a styling for an electric guitar which will be produced by the same factory in a limited edition. The winner will receive the "Gibson USA," the judge of the contest, a prize of € 2,000.00. Participation is limited to only the exhibiting artists in RomArt 2015 International Biennial of Art and Culture and is not to be considered open to persons who have not passed the selection process for admission. ART. 6 - RULES OF SELECTION AND REGISTRATION The selection of the works proposed will be appropriately made by a committee of experts appointed by the organizer and different from the jury (article 3), whose names are not disclosed for reasons of discretion and in order to avoid any attempt to external interference. For each artist chosen, the Committee may select one or more works, even belonging to different sections, giving him timely notice. After the selection, the artist has the right to take part in the event, even if only one part of the selected works, contributing to the organizational costs of event based on the number of selected works by paying a membership fee and of participation. This can be done by following the directions received by the secretariat organization at the time of their selection. This cost, paid by the artist, guarantees, together with the contributions and sponsorships received, to cover the costs to realize the event, allowing the organizer to remain independent and therefore free from any external conditioning, in order to pursue the aim and purpose of the event itself, namely the promotion and the divulgation of art and culture. The procedure for payment of these fees will be communicated directly to the artist selected which, at that time, can or cannot accept the nomination because the first phase of selection is completely free. In order to participate in the selection, and then send the application, you can follow the procedures indicated on the website www.romart.org in the section HOW TO PARTICIPATE. ART. 7 - DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION The deadline for submitting applications to the selection, expires on March 28, 2015. ART. 8 - AVAILABILITY FOR ARTISTS SELECTED To the selected artists, who will take part in the event, will be offered the following: 1. Exhibition space inside the pavilion set up properly, as well as participation in the competition; 2. Publication in the catalogue of the exhibition, realized in digital and paper, of one of the works selected and displayed, and the biography of the artist which, however, should not exceed the number of characters provided by the organizer; 3. Inclusion of works as well as a short biography of the artist selected on the website www.romart.org; 4. Two years of permanence of the publications related to the artist selected (works and biography) on the website www.romart.org; 5. Art promotion of the artist through extensive use of social networks and through institutional partners and sponsors; 6. Publication of the list of artists participating in the event in newspapers and magazines in publication in the month prior to the date of the event; 7. N° 1 copy of the paper catalogue ; 8. N°1 copy of the catalogue in digital format on mini CD or mini usb; All material shown above will be delivered to all the selected artists who will participate in the event. All artists can apply, to the secretary of the organization, additional copies of cataloguesboth formats, by reservation to be received by March 31, 2015 and paying its cost. ART. 9 - ADVERTISING PROGRAM The event will include a publicity campaign through web channels (corporate website, Fiera Roma website, sites of the partners of the event, the sites of technical and institutional sponsors, social networks), public billboards, press releases, newsletters, newspapers, magazines, radio and TV. Wide communication will be given to the various organs of national and foreign press through the press office the organizer. Art. 10 - PREPARATION OF THE EXPOSITORY SPACE AND SHIPPING OF THE WORKS The layout of the entire exhibition space will be taken care of by the organizer who will design and develop the areas. Those which, for technical reasons, will need to set up by themselves their own space will make suitable arrangements with the secretariat and will be obliged to guard their own space since the preparation until the dismantling observing the opening and closing times (see article 2). This possibility will be granted only to participants who use closed areas (stand), properly planned with the organizer and they can not ask for exceptions to the regulation. All those who do exhibit in public areas, set up and operated exclusively the organizer, shall be relieved from attending their areas and must ship, by the date agreed, their works at collection centers which will be announced later by the organizer. These works will already be prepared for set up and equipped with its hooks / hangers. The pictorial works will also have to be framed, even with a simple strip, except for those painted also on the edges which may be exposed directly. The organizer reserves the right to not expose the works arriving without such requirements, without any refund can be requested by the participant by the organizer. The organizer will ensure the safekeeping of all works entrusted to him for the entire period of exposure, from the time of pick up to the return to the rightful owner at the end of exposure. Though undertaking to keep, with the utmost care and competence, all the works entrusted to him by adopting any necessary measures of precaution and safety, is not responsible for any damage, fire or theft that may occur. At the end of the exhibition, the organizer will return the works entrusted to him by shipping “freight collect”; the cost of transport will be charged to the owner. The rightful owner of the works may alternatively provide personally to the withdrawal of the works presenting an identity document or by means of a person appointed by proxy: this person must have a written proxy and a copy of the identity card of the delegator and the delegate. This possibility must be communicated to the organizer with adequate advance notice before the event. Art. 11 - INSURANCE The organizer only provides public-liability insurance in favor of exhibitors and visitors, as well as for all those who contribute to the event. No insurance policy is provided for the works. If the artist / exhibitor desires or deems appropriate, he can take out an insurance policy with a company of his choice, to cover any damage caused by theft, fire or any other cause. No charge can be moved in the organizer. Art. 12 - VARIATIONS AND / OR CHANGES Any changes on the way for the event will be communicated by the organizer to all participants directly and through the normal channels of communication and propaganda. Art. 13 - PRIVACY AND CONDITIONS 1. I expressly authorize the Cultural Association Artiamo Events and RomArt 2015, as well as their direct delegates, to treat the personal data according to the Law 675/96 (Privacy Act) and its following modifications Decree. 196/2003 (Privacy Code), also for inclusion in databases managed by these people. Any dispute will be dealt with in Italy and under Italian law. The personal data, the images of the works submitted and / or other works included on the site or films / videos shot by the organization during an event to promote the artists and himself, to promote on the web, communications and marketing, will be used by the organization without having to necessarily require the consent of the parties. Membership and participation in the event implies the knowledge and unconditional acceptance of these Rules and Articles of Association Artiamo of the Cultural Events. 2. Each participant in the competition gives, free of charge, to the Cultural Artiamo Events, as well as its legal representative, rights to reproduce works and texts released for the event, for the purpose of preparation of the catalogue, the possible publication on the website and other forms of communication, promotion and activities of the organization. The material sent for the entry will not be returned. The organizer of the competition will have the right of final decision on all is not specified in this announcement. The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the contract if and when the need arises. 3. The organizers reserve the right to remove defamatory or obscene images or texts, unless they are motivated in writing by the artist. The images of the works proposed will be visible online or in use, being part of the complete visual record of the event, and can not be removed. 4. The person making the inclusion of their data on the website or send material for adhesion via mail, is entirely responsible for the contents of the material posted and transmitted through the site www.romart.org. 5. The participant declares that the works proposed are the exclusive property and creation and be the sole owner of the intellectual property. He states also to have the free disposal and not to have contractual obligations and / or third party agreements which prevent them from posting pictures. 6. The participant declares to be of legal age according to the laws of their state and have full capacity to act and have the rights referred to in this document. The participant provides not violate either in whole or in part the rights of third parties, or any rule, civil, criminal or administrative by the application and the participation of their works to the competition. The participant agrees to indemnify the organizers against any claim, compensation, damages, refund expenses asserted by third parties with judicial actions and / or out of court, for whatever reason. The participant agrees to hold harmless the organizer of all costs and all damages that may result from any illicit origin of the works. The organizer reserves the right to ask the participant to change the text or content of the works in order to eliminate any step that,their judgment or the advice of his lawyers, may be deemed to affect or sanctioned criminally. In any case, these changes will not raise the participant to any responsibility. 7. The participant declares, according to the DPR no. 445 of 28/12/2000 the accuracy of the data transmitted. Art. 14 - CONSENT The participant, accepting this regulation, states that he has read and accepted completely its content, allowing the organizer to the processing of personal data.
