Are you stressed out from a long day at work or just
stressed out in general from day-to-day things. Then
it's a great opportunity for you to take a walk in the
park. Monday, March 30, 2015 is “Take A Walk in the
Park Day” at the Shirley B. Winston Recreation Center
and Park. A walk in the park is just what the doctor
order; it's a calming and therapeutic way to relieve
stress. Taking a walk doing your lunch break or after
a busy workday helps you clear your mind and it
quickly re-energizes you. A walk in the park will likely
be the most enjoyable part of your day. Make sure
you start your walk with a clear mind and open eyes.
In addition to a voiding a fall, open eyes will allow you
to take in the beauty of nature such as flowers, trees,
birds and other wildlife.
Activities Held at the Center
The recreation center is comprised of a gymnasium,
weight room, aerobics room, activity room, full size
kitchen, game room and locker room. The center
can also be rented for private gatherings, reunions,
sport events or banquets.
The leisure pool has water fountains, water buckets,
slide, swim lap area, locker rooms and concession
stand.
