2015 SPRING FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE – MANHEIM TOWNSHIP JR. BLUE STREAKS The idea of flag football league is to promote youth football in Manheim Twp. and give the youth boys and girls of our community a fun, outdoor activity a few Sunday afternoons in the spring. Coach Mark Evans and members of the Blue Streak coaching staff and players will supervise all flag football activities. We have attached Coach Evans bio to this form if you would like to read more. Flag football is designed for the participants to have fun. DATES: 4/12, 4/19, 5/3. The times are 3:30 – 5:00PM at Manheim Twp. High School Stadium. If necessary rain dates will be determined later. We will not have football on 4/26, so only three days this year. COST: $10 registration fee is to cover the tee shirt for each player TH TH TH TH ND RD TH THREE DIVISIONS: A (7 & 8 GRADES) B (5 & 6 GRADES) C (2 , 3 , 4 GRADES) FLAG FOOTBALL RULES:         Kickoffs are made by punting the ball. If the kickoff is not catchable , the receiving team has the option of taking the ball where it hit the ground or have a “do-over” If the balls hits the ground it is dead, this includes kickoffs, center snaps, fumbles, etc. The center must snap ball between his/her legs. A team has four downs. Two consecutive forward pass completions equal a first down. All players are eligible receivers No rushing the quarterback until a three count by the referee, unless the quarterback moves towards the line of scrimmage. Fourth down punts must be indicated by the punting team. No rushing by the defense and no leaving by the offense until the ball is punted. There is no P.A.T. Playing time is (2) 25 minute halves with a running clock. PENALTIES:   Offside or illegal procedure – 2 giant steps. Tackling, Illegal blocking, unsportsmanlike conduct – 5 giant steps.
