IBM MobileFirst, Phonegap. He had filed 5 PATENTS
in United States Patents & Trademarks Office and 10
Invention Disclosures in various mobile technologies.

Bharathiar University
The Government of Tamilnadu established the Bharathiar
University at Coimbatore in February, 1982. The
University has received recognition from University Grants
Commission (UGC), New Delhi in May 1985. The University
named after the great national poet Subramanian Bharathi
is enshrined with the motto “Educate to Elevate”. In the
University, every effort is harnessed to realize his dream of
making “Educational Institutions as Temple of Learning”.
It is the aim of the University to participate in the task of
inculcating necessary knowledge, skills, creative attitudes
and values among the youth of the country to contribute
more effectively towards establishing an equitable, social
and economic order and secular ideal of our Nation.
Department of Computer Applications
The Department of Computer Applications is imparting
knowledge in the areas of Computer Applications to
students by class room based teaching, practical sessions
Technology is changing and evolving at a rapid pace.
This is more evident than it seems to be in the applications
and mobile phones’ market. Every year sees new trends and
innovations in phones – new applications are being written
to make it easier for the end users, to have access to all their
information, whenever and wherever they are. Android makes it
possible.
Android is on its highest peak and is constantly rising as a mobile
platform. According to a recent study by IDC, Android market
share was 78% in 2013 which rises to magnificent 80.2% by the
end of 2014. And this will continue by 2015 as well.
This workshop will focus on the mobile application development
skills in android platform to maximize the latest technologies
and blends theory and practice which help to build great apps
the right way. It addresses Android OS architecture, framework
setup for development, basic applications development training,
complex UI components design, services and sqlite database
training. The workshop will serve as a platform to gain better
insight on Advances in Android Programming in Mobile, Robotics,
IoT, Sensors and Embedded System. Java has been pushed as
the on-ramp to the Internet of things, but Android will make IoT
into more than just a buzzword for most people.

The Department emphasizes a shift from mass teaching
to personalized instruction, single learning to multiple
learning, rigid daily programme to flexible schedules,

to interrelated, memorial answers to problem awareness,
emphasis an e-learning and passive mastery of information
