TRINITY CAMP EXPECTATIONS










Trinity Camp is a week of close communal living at the Santa Monica YMCA Camp Big Bear,
in Big Bear Lake, C.A. Behavior and clothing should be appropriate for age and assignment.
Camper and counselors are expected to comply with the rules and regulations of Trinity Church,
the Santa Monica YMCA Camp Big Bear, and the laws of the State of California. It is, therefore,
inappropriate for anyone to possess or use illegal substances. The possession or use of illegal
substances is a “down the hill” offense (person committing a violation will be sent home).
Sexual harassment and inappropriate sexual behavior (suggestive comments, touching, etc.) are
also “down the hill” offenses.
All medications (including vitamins) must be given to the Camp Nurse, who will administer it
according to the prescription or, in the case of non-prescription drugs, as needed. All medication
should be the original medication bottle, and clearly marked with the name of the camper. Any
special instructions need to be discussed with the nurse.
No gum chewing, please. Do not bring food or candy to camp. Supplementary dietary food is
allowed with prior permission from the nurse, to whom it will be handed at check-in time.
Campers are expected to participate in all scheduled activities. As you can see from the “schedule
of a typical day” there is plenty of free time for campers to choose the activity that interest them.
There are three worship services each day at Camp. Attendance at daily Morning Prayer and
Evening Prayer is optional. Campers are expected to attend the daily Holy Eucharist. It is not
necessary for campers to receive the bread and wine at Communion to enjoy and benefit from
this corporate act of worship.
No sandals! Shoes and socks must be worn when it is appropriate to have something on your
feet.
All cell phones must be kept in the cabin and not used unless the Senior Counselor gives
permission. We highly encourage campers to not bring cell phones to camp.
All campers and counselors observe “rest hour.” No exceptions.
No camper or Junior Counselor may drive off camp grounds without the express consent of the
Camp Director. Cars are off limits to campers and Junior Counselors.
PLEASE DISCUSS CAMP EXPECTATIONS WITH YOUR CAMPER
