Students who enter the competition must be active members of St. Michael Parish who will graduate in 2015 from any high school in the area. They are to write an essay of 500 - 750 words typed and doublespaced. This year’s assigned topic is “What do you consider to be the single and most important spiritual problem for youth today? Why?” Three scholarships will be awarded, one of $500 and two of $250. New scholarship this year: This will also be the first year that the Dc. Robert Johnson Memorial Scholarship is offered. It is a $500 scholarship and is also an essay competition. The essay topic for this scholarship is “What was the role of the deacon in Biblical times, and currently?” The same rules apply to both scholarship competitions, and all entries must be postmarked no later than April 30, 2015. Students may submit entries for both scholarships.
