What will you be doing?
In the midst of the Calgary International Airport’s expansion program, our rapidly expanding environment provides exposure to a
variety of outdoor tasks in and around the airport terminal building and airport lands. Working as a part of our Groundside
Services team you will learn what is required to keep an international airport running.
What will your primary responsibilities be?







Spring cleaning – sweeping, backpack blowing, curb stop replacement and other maintenance related duties
Maintenance of turf areas and tree watering on over 5000 acres of airport land
Performance of Apron and Groundside Self-Site Inspections using Authority vehicles
Landscaping requirements – watering, weeding, fertilizing, operating; mowers, weed whackers, painting and rototillers
Assist with set up of special events – stampede breakfasts, BBQ’s, etc.
Escort and assist contractors on airport lands
Periodic assistance with administrative duties
What will you bring?







Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers License or equivalent, subject to a clean driver’s abstract
Enjoy physical work in an outdoor environment
Ability to take initiative and demonstrate strong time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Must be able to obtain an Airport Vehicle Operators Permit
Obtain steel toed shoes or boots (an allowance will be given)
Successful candidates for this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment; along with
an alcohol & drug test by the Calgary Airport Authority’s Medical Officer to confirm fitness for work
Note: Students must be returning to school (post-secondary or high school) in the fall to qualify for this position.
