QUIZ BOWL RESULTS
One of the many extracurricular activities that seventh and eighth graders
can participate in is Quiz Bowl. This year 15 students chose to meet
several Fridays after school to learn and review math, science, literature,
grammar, history, geography, and current events as they prepared for
competition.
On February 27, two SPSL teams competed in the annual Gross Catholic
High School Quiz Bowl. Team 1 competed in six rounds and won four;
YOU ARE INVITED TO A
PARTY - A WORK PARTY
Team 2 competed in four rounds and won two.
Congratulations to these students who were willing to extend their school
day and represent our school. We are proud of their effort and
sportsmanship during the competition.
The following are the students who participated in Quiz Bowl:
Team 1 - Connor Gregg, Brian Martin, Joseph McAuliffe, Owen Morrow,
and Daniel Noon
Team 2 - Teddy Novotny, Sam Raabe, Daniel Richter, Augie Shald, and
Cameron Snyder

up the school grounds on
Saturday, April 18th from 8:00
a.m. - 2:00 p.m. If possible,
please bring a rake and gloves.
Lunch and beverages will be
provided. Please come and lend
a hand. This effort saves a
considerable amount of money.
In case of bad weather, the work
party will be May 2nd. If you
have questions, call the school
office, (402) 551-6667.
A special thanks to our parent volunteers who drove students to the

P.E. NOTES
BIBLE BOWL
The following students participated in the annual St.
Bernard's Bible Bowl on Saturday, March 7th: 4th graders
Katie Peklo and Chelsea Okosi, 5th graders Andrew
Washington, Wistrom Herfordt, Walker Goebel, and Jacob
Dasher and 6th grader Dallas Davis.
Congratulations to them all for their dedication and hard work. They
proudly represented our school. Thanks to Mr. Carreon and Mrs.
Students in grades 5-8 have
been working on their running
endurance in P.E. class and will
attempt to run a mile at the Race
for Education on April 24th.
Parents can encourage their
children to run at home for
distance or for time. They have
been told not to run alone, so
they may ask a parent to go
along! We are up to about 5
minutes of running time, working
our way up to 10 minutes. The
average person can run an 8-10
minute mile. NOTE: If your child
has asthma please make sure
his/her inhaler is at school and
that a completed medication
authorization form is on file in
the school office for its use.
Sheehan, who helped at the Bible Bowl and Miss Lowndes, coach.
