Bring your dog for an invigorating walk in designated garden
areas. Dogs must be leashed.

Dog Exhibitors and Vendors
Visit with rescue groups and animal welfare organizations. The
Big Apple Sporting Society (BASS) will administer AKC Canine
Good Citizen tests for which you can sign up your dog on-site.

Renew, Replenish, Reconnect- Sunset Poetry Walk
Nature has long inspired the written word. Join Sara Rempe, Adjunct Professor of Creative Writing at Hunter College, on a garden
walk that examines this concept. Selected readings will pair with
the landscape to inspire participants to create their own texts on
site. No previous poetry-writing experience necessary.

Photography Workshop
Through a guided tour of the grounds you will discover more
about your camera, be it a DSLR or an iPhone, and learn the basics through camera settings, composition, and lighting.

Early Bird Walk
Celebrate Migratory Bird Month with a walk guided by an educator from the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center.

world that magically appears in the gardens at Midsummer.

Midsummer Jazz
Stroll the Walled Garden and listen to the cool sounds of live
jazz. Light refreshments.

Midsummer Night
Guests of all ages are invited to picnic, stroll , and relax amid
the gardens illuminated with lanterns and decorated by
magical faeries. Starting at 6:15 Lori Belilove and members of
the Isadora Duncan Dance Company will offer free classes for
children of all ages. At 8:15 gather on the South Lawn as the
Company will perform dances inspired by Greek Mythology
from the Repertory of Isadora Duncan. isadoraduncan.org

Sweet Dreams are Made of Seeds
Drop in to our information station to hear about the ambitious
journey of migratory birds and how seeds play a part in its success. Taste some edible seeds and welcome back feathered friends
by fashioning a sweet treat bird feeder to hang in your backyard.

Beaming Blooms Mother’s Day Craft
Focus on Mom, Grandma, or any special lady with a flower photo
gift straight from the heart. Children walk the Gardens to view
beautiful blooms and return to craft a framed flower portrait that
will never fade.

Free with admission, but supplies are limited. Event is open to the
first 25 children. Crafters are encouraged to bring a 1.5" printed
picture of themselves.
Happy to Hear It Walk and Craft
The sounds of nature can be music to the ears and the mind. Walk
the Gardens and listen up to hear the benefits of natural noises for
our changing moods. Recreate common outdoor crunches and
crackles before crafting your own soothing rainstick instrument.

our fairest residents conceal powers with their prettiness. Decipher the identity of these terrific tricksters and, later, craft your
own patterned mask to make your looks deceiving.

Don a “fingerstache” tattoo to better understand the myths behind
the madness of why nature inspired villains are seen as scoundrels. A guided storybook walk will change your mind about the
misunderstood antiheroes who grace the pages of your favorite

Hubcap flowers for Father’s Day
Accelerate your affection for Dad this Father’s Day weekend!
Cruise inspiration in the Gardens’ June flower beds and create a

Summer Camp
Join us for the Gardens’ exciting Summer Camps!
Eco Heroes This program, for ages 6-9, allows young ecologists
to learn the secret life of natural superheroes. Daily themes
from insects to flowers to soil will inspire fun crafts, games,
and hands-on activities to enhance each day’s discoveries.
July 20–24 9am–12pm

Fresh Takes This program, for ages 6-9, focuses on the artmaking process as inspired by the natural world. Artists explore a
variety of traditional methods like drawing and painting, as
well as lesser known arts like printmaking, mixed media, light
power tools and more. Open to all levels of experience with an
enthusiasm for art.

Visiting the Gardens
Yoga in the Gardens
Professional Kripalu Yoga instructor, Lorili Henry, leads students
through a dynamic, yet gentle flow of postures and conscious
breathing. Participants must bring a yoga mat, yoga strap, and
towel.
Thursdays and Saturdays, May–October (rain or shine), 11:15am–
12:15pm

Tai Chi
Tai chi—a unique form of “moving meditation”—calms the mind,
relaxes the body and strengthens the spirit. Sessions are taught by
professional tai chi instructor, Linda Cafiero, and are designed for
all experience levels.

$10 General, $8 college students with ID and persons over age 62,
$5 children ages 7–17. Free for members and children ages 6 and
under.
Program and Event Information
Old Westbury Gardens reserves the right to change or cancel programs and events. Visit oldwestburygardens.org for any changes.
Registration for all events is at oldwestburygardens.org. Where
indicated advance registration or tickets are required in order to
ensure adequate space or materials. All registrations will be confirmed by email or mail. If you have not received your confirmation
14 days prior to your program’s start date, call 516-333-0048 ext. 301.
In the event we receive your registration after a program has filled,
you will automatically be placed on a waiting list. You will be notified by phone if/when a space becomes available. We will process
your payment at that time.
If Old Westbury Gardens cancels the program (e.g., due to rain,
instructor’s illness, or insufficient enrollment) you will receive a full
refund.
If you are unable to attend the program you may contact our office
for a receipt, which will enable you to claim your contribution as a
tax-deductible gift.

Refunds must be requested in writing and will be issued only if
requested at least 14 days prior to the program. A 10% processing
fee may be deducted from the refund. No refunds will be issued
less than 14 days before the start of the program. Registrations are
processed in the order in which they are received.

Gardeners’ Fair
This is the largest fundraising event of the year and this year the
party focuses on everyone’s love of Horses. Our chairs are Cornelia Guest and Ellen Niven and our honoree is Jane Greenleaf and
her family. The honorary décor chair is Nina Campbell who will
be coming from London to join us for this event.

The Friends of Old Westbury Gardens Spring Trip
The Friends of Old Westbury Gardens has an exciting trip
planned for Central Park. This event will include a tour by Central
Park Conservancy historian Sara Cedar Miller. The Friends will
be joined by their luncheon honoree Henry Stern who will give
a short talk. The buffet lunch will be held at a private apartment
with a view of Central Park. Space is limited and you must be an
upper level member, Friend or above, to attend this wonderful
and unique event.

Golf Tournament
Join us for lunch, golf on a glorious course and dinner and awards
