In response to requests from local business and industry, the Council is
continuing The Manufacturing Institute. This intensive program will offer basic
skills which are in high demand in the local job market. The program is open to
current employees, as well as those in the job market looking to upgrade or
develop the skills that employers want in their applicants. The course offerings
combine technical skills with so-called soft skills and techniques for dealing
with people effectively. Pricing is $50 per week per week per student.

Through this innovative partnership with Gannon University, ECUA is able to provide these associate degrees for a total of $12,000 in tuition and
fees for the entire 2 year period necessary to earn the degree. This is a significant reduction to what a Gannon University degree typically costs and
is comparable to the cost for similar programming at community colleges. To qualify for the reduced tuition rate, students must be residents of PA.
This is an open enrollment program, which means that SAT scores are not required for admission; students simply need a high school diploma or
GED to apply for admission.

2015 OSHA Update

This OSHA outreach workshop will provide an annual update on
enforcement, compliance assistance, and other hot topics. The program
will include an overview of the most frequently cited standards from 2014.
We will discuss local, regional and national emphasis programs that target
particular industries or specific hazards relating to known dangerous work
activities. Several photographs of apparent violations will be displayed. A
final question and answer session will complete the event with handouts
for all attendees. The target audience would include safety professionals,
and company representatives of any business conducting business in the
private sector regulated by Federal OSHA.
