About Lauren
Lauren is a Bucks County
native from Southeastern PA
and has been living life as a
quadriplegic for nearly two
years. Now age 20, the
former Council Rock South
HS graduate and Penn State
student is dedicated to not
only to her recovery, but also
to raising awareness of diving safety.
In June 2013, she suffered a catastrophic injury
from a fluke diving accident. Her PSA on water
safety airs on YouTube and she has spoken
publicly to local school aged students about safe
diving. Her courage and candor are remarkable as
she shares her story and her
struggles. Lauren’s story
speaks to the dangers of
diving head first into water
that you can’t see through.
Lauren continues to make measurable strides in
gaining strength and neuromuscular
communication through Barwis Methods Injury
Recovery Program in Plymouth, Michigan.
Through their Neurological Reengineering
techniques, dozens have defied the odds of
recovery, including walking again. It is here where
there is the greatest opportunity of regaining
motor function.
Attending the program is a
financial, physical and emotional
commitment. This year’s 2nd Annual
Golf Tournament is dedicated to
funding Lauren’s training. Lauren’s
goal is to overcome her paralysis
and regain independence. Thank
