How to Add the SolidNetWork License Server

Adding the SolidNetWork License Server Information
to SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM Administration
SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM 2015 now uses the SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Server to
distribute Enterprise PDM licenses. This guide provides a step-by-step process for adding the
SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Server information to an Enterprise PDM Client to obtain a
license.
Note: These steps are applicable for upgrades or new installation of Enterprise PDM 2015.
Perquisites


Install Enterprise PDM Client
Install and activate the Enterprise PDM license in the SolidNetWork License Manager and
ensure that the network is properly setup for the Enterprise PDM Client to obtain a license.

The Process
1. Open the Enterprise PDM Administration tool
a. Start > All Programs >SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM> Administration
2. Form the Administration tool, find your vault and log in.
3. Double click on License
4. Once the Set License window opens, under the Server List tab, click on Add...
5. Enter the port and server name to add it to the server list. For example,
25734@MyServerName
6. Click OK.
7. You can add multiple licensing server if applicable.
8. When done, ensure the license server information entered is in the server list. Click OK.
In upgrades to Enterprise PDM 2015 from 2014 or older, connect to the licensing server with the
steps above in the first upgraded client. Then, the subsequent upgraded clients will automatically
contain the license server information entered. Otherwise, click Exit on the Enterprise PDM icon in
system tray of the upgraded clients. This will refresh the license server information entered once
the user tries to log in.
