Catalina Café (see over for details) Mill House Mill House was built in 1929 by aviation industry pioneers, Doug and Audrey Mill, as their family home. It will be renovated and sold. HQ Building The repurposed defence force headquarters is available for use by the community. - Defence Memorial A memorial to the men and women who lived and served at the base. Yard 37: Marine Precinct Tucked away in here are two Kiwi companies that build super yachts. Tiwatawata by John Reynolds One hundred and eight charred poles make up this landscape sculpture, which marches across the land dissecting Hobsonville Point Park. Old Barracks We’ll soon be looking for a development partner to turn the barracks into heritage apartments. Marlborough Oval This heritage oval was used as a parade ground. It will kept as a reserve for the community. - Married Officers Houses These waterfront homes will be renovated and sold. The Landing This is where the seaplanes used to be launched from. It will become a waterfront hub for the community with shops, cafés, apartments and offices. - Ferry Wharf Hobsonville Point has a commuter ferry service to downtown Auckland. - Farmers Market (see over for details) Estuarine by Louise Purvis Inspired by Hobsonville Point’s waterways, Estuarine winds its way over and around a gabion retaining wall. The work is made of tubular baskets filled with scoria. From the Ground Up by Tiffany Singh, Wiremu Diamond, all 97 students of Hobsonville Point Primary. This collaborative installation draws inspiration from the Japanese Torri gate tradition, the purpose of which is to divide our world and the spirit world. Hinaki by Virginia King Hinaki, conceived as both a symbolic eel trap and a guardian, stands watch at the end of the wharf welcoming commuters home. Remnants of Flight by Nick Eagles This sculpture recalls Linear Park’s former life as an airstrip. Tree Cosy Clip, Tool, Heart of Stumps by Alison Milne of Knitted Graffiti and a team of local knitters Guerilla knitting has become something of a worldwide phenomenon. Our beautiful example utilises a heritage pohutukawa as its canvas. Tree Cosy has a limited life span, so come and see it soon. The Memory Windmills Bomb Point This 11 ha piece of waterfront land dotted with munitions bunkers will be kept as a park for the people of Auckland.
