The training course is particularly focused on young professionals early in their careers by providing them with an understanding of key topics in translational research that are relevant for patient care in breast cancer. Learning objectives Accreditation 3.To understand the importance of translational research and how its integration can advance solving current clinical problems for breast cancer patients CME The Pre-IMPAKT training course programme has been submitted for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), uems.net Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME credit to AMA credit can be found at ama-assn.org/go/internationalcme ESMO-MORA The programme has also been submitted for ESMO-MORA category 1 points accreditation. Recertification is necessary for medical oncologists to remain professionally certified by ESMO. Recertification guarantees that a certified medical oncologist has continued to update her/his knowledge and continues to possess the necessary skills and standards for the practice of medical oncology. For further details, please refer to esmo.org 1.To understand essential concepts in basic science relevant for breast cancer research and tools available for translational research 2.To understand the rapidly evolving research areas on new techniques and technologies and how they provide new biological understanding of breast cancer 4.To understand from different perspectives the concept of translations of research findings from bench to bedside Join the IMPAKT Breast Cancer Conference The training course will be followed by the 7th IMPAKT Breast Cancer Conference (7-9 May 2015), designed for breast cancer researchers and clinicians who have a specific interest in translational research, new agents, molecular and functional diagnostics, biomarkers and cuttingedge research applications in the clinical setting. Training course participants are also cordially invited to register for IMPAKT. Participation Attendance at the course will be restricted to 100 participants selected by the Training Course Task Force on the basis of applications submitted. Applications supported by a Curriculum Vitae and a motivation letter should be sent via e-mail to [email protected] no later than 18 February 2015.
