Dear Dolvin Families:
This is the latest information we have on the upcoming testing. Please note that this could change but I wanted to give you a
clear picture of what to expect at this point. April 16 th through May 1st, Dolvin’s third through fifth graders will take the
Georgia Milestones End of Grade Test. Students will be assessed on how well they have learned Common Core Georgia
Performance Standards. The tests will measure a student’s knowledge in reading, language arts, math, science and social
studies. Please ensure that your child comes to school on time and is well rested. Students who arrive after 7:50 a.m. will
not be able to participate in testing that day. Please do not schedule appointments for these dates:

The students may be testing on different days because some will be using computers and we will not be able to
accommodate everyone all at one time as we were able to with CRCT. The test time is very similar to years past.
There will be an ELA test with three sections, and math, science, and social studies will have two sections. Each
section is approximately 70 minutes.
Warmly,
Laura Zoll

Warm Weather Dressing
As warm weather continues, students are reminded to dress in a manner that reflects neatness, cleanliness and safety. Fulton County
School board policy states, “…all students shall dress appropriately so as not to disrupt or interfere with the educational program or
orderly operation of the school. Extremes in dressing and grooming will not be permitted.” Shorts and skirts must meet finger-tip
rule and straps must be one inch in width. Bare midriffs, see-through clothing, and apparel that designate gangs or similar are not
appropriate wear. Flip flops should not be worn to school.
On the first violation, the teacher will send a note home to remind you and your child of the dress code. For the second violation,
students will be asked to call home for appropriate clothing or borrow from the clinic.
Please encourage students to dress in an appropriate manner. For student safety, remember tennis shoes are necessary for P.E. days.

We live in a competitive world and our children feel it more than ever. Testing standards have gotten higher and requirements to get into
colleges have risen exponentially. Driven parents pushing too hard can have a negative impact on their relationship with their child. How do
we balance the desire for our children to succeed while also giving them the right environment to grow and become their best? Please join
us for a thought provoking discussion on this pertinent topic in today’s world.
This is the perfect follow up to seeing “Race To Nowhere”.
