STUDENT FINANCE 2015-16
You can apply online now https://www.gov.uk/apply-onlinefor-student-finance for student finance if you are starting a
full-time course at university or college in the academic year
2015 to 2016.
You can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan to help pay your fees, and
loans and grants to help with your living costs.
You don’t need a confirmed place at university or college to
apply. Just use your preferred choice and if it changes you can
update your application later.
You must apply before 31 May 2015 to get your funding by the
start of term in autumn 2015.

READING UNIVERSITY SUMMER
SCHOOLS
YEAR 12 STUDENTS
Reading University offer a number of free summer school
places to year 12 students considering going on to university.
Applications are welcome from all students and in the event
of over subscription priority will be given to students with no
family experience of higher education. Summer School topics
on offer are:
History/Film and Theatre/French and German/Food and
Nutrition/Maths
The schools run on different dates depending on topic, but
generally are about two or three days long and occur between
late June and early July. If you are interested in applying follow

YEAR 12 HIGHER EDUCATION
INSIGHT (HEI) PROGRAMME
University of Birmingham
Birmingham University are offering a free residential course for
students from 16 -19 August 2015.
HEI is for students currently in Year 12 and involves:
• A four-day, three-night residential in University of
Birmingham halls of residence.
• An e-mentoring programme throughout Year 13.
• Pairing up with a current undergraduate student studying
in your area of interest.
• Impartial advice about higher education and choosing the
right course and university for you.
• Support with UCAS applications and personal statement
writing.
