Saturday morning surgery is staffed by one Doctor
only, on a rotation basis.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of patient
information and to handling your personal information
in a responsible manner in accordance with the
Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Privacy Amendment
(Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012, the
Australian Privacy Principles and relevant State and
Territory privacy legislation (collectively referred to as
privacy legislation).
A copy of our Privacy Policy can be obtained from
Reception on request, and is available on our
website.

FEES
This surgery has a mixed billing policy, depending on
age and status. Those with current Pension Cards or
who are under 16 years of age will be Bulk-Billed
between the hours of 8.30am & 5.30pm Monday to
Friday only.
Those on a current Health Care Card or Full-Time
Students pay a discounted fee, approximately $10
less than standard fees. For others, the standard fee
is $73.00, payable in full, for a consultation of less
than 20 minutes. Medicare rebates are available
instantly, through EFTPOS. Please ask at reception
for a ‘Consultation Fee Sheet’.

If medical attention is required after hours, please
telephone the Home Doctor Service on 13 7425
(13 SICK)
ARRIVING AT THE SURGERY
On arrival, please report to Reception. We ask that
you arrive on time for your appointment – if you are
more than 10 minutes late you may have to
reschedule your appointment. If you think you are
infectious, or are too ill or distressed to sit in the
waiting room, please advise the receptionist upon
arrival. Also please advise of any change of address
or phone numbers.

APPOINTMENTS
This practice operates on an appointment system.
Appointments can be made in person, by phone or
now ONLINE via our website or the Appointuit
app. When making an appointment, please ask for
the doctor of your choice. We encourage you to book
a longer consultation if booking for complex issues,
mental health care, special medicals etc. Should you
be making an appointment for a possible procedure,
please do so by phone and advise the receptionist.
Please note we do not offer appointment-making by
email message.
If you feel your condition is urgent and cannot wait for
the next available appointment, please discuss this
with the receptionist.
CANCELLATIONS
If you are unable to attend a booked appointment at
the allotted time, it would be appreciated if you could
telephone and advise us in plenty of time so your
appointment can be allocated to someone else.
This surgery has a “Did Not Attend” policy. If you fail
to attend repeated appointments without cancelling,
an account for $40.00 will be sent to you.
TRANSLATING SERVICE
REQUESTS FOR RESULTS
A translating service is available through the
Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) National,
for patients who speak languages other than English.
Please see reception staff for further information.
The Administration staff do not have access to the
patients’ medical records and can only convey the
message left by the doctor regarding any results. If
the patient requires further information, an
appointment should be made.
Indooroopilly Family Practice offers a computerised
reminder system for smears, immunisations,
procedures etc. Please discuss this with your doctor
at your next consultation.
PATIENT FEEDBACK
From time to time patients will be invited to complete
a questionnaire on their views of the Practice and
how it can be improved. Such surveys are
confidential and help us to help you.
Should you be unhappy with any aspect of the care
you receive here, please discuss this with your
Doctor, Practice Manager or Receptionist. If you feel
there is a problem you wish to follow up outside the
Practice, you may prefer to contact the Office of the
Health
Ombudsman

HOME VISITS
Home Visits are available to regular patients who live
in the local area, within a 3km radius. Should you
require a home visit, please ring and talk to our
Reception Staff who will discuss the situation and
make the appropriate arrangements.
Please note: Home Visits are NOT bulk billed.
PHONECALLS / SCRIPTS / REFERRALS
Doctors do not take phone calls from patients during
consultation hours. If you need to contact the doctor,
please leave your name, number, and message with
reception staff. Doctors do not enter into electronic
communications regarding clinical matters.
The
practice email address is for administrative matters
only.
Repeat scripts or renewal of Specialist referrals can
only be done at the discretion of the doctor, with
sufficient notice, and will incur an appropriate fee.
