TULPEHAKING NATURE CENTER PROGRAM
TO FEATURE BALD EAGLES
TRENTON, N.J. — The Tulpehaking Nature Center offers families a rare glimpse into the
lives of our region’s bald eagles with a presentation of “Bald Eagles in Your Backyard” on
Sunday, March 22, from 2 to 4 p.m.
In this program, researchers studying bald eagles with the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of
NJ will share their stories of these magnificent raptors living along the Crosswicks Creek in
the Abbott Marshlands and surrounding areas of Mercer and Burlington counties. Visitors
will get to see and touch artifacts from eagles and their nests and then meet a live bald eagle,
presented by the Mercer County Wildlife Center.
On a future date in May, visitors will have the chance to see the Abbott Marshlands bald
eagle nest in person with a public viewing near the site in the D&R Canal State Park.
The program is $5-per-person suggested donation. Visitors also have the chance to win a
one-of-a-kind custom birdhouse that will be raffled off at the end of the program. All
proceeds will benefit the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ and Wildlife Center Friends.
The Tulpehaking Nature Center is located at 157 Westcott Ave. in Hamilton and is open
Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please call 609-303-0704
for more information.
The Tulpehaking Nature Center provides programs and exhibits that encourage visitors to
explore and discover the many cultural, historic and natural resources of the Abbott
Marshlands. The nature center is owned by the County of Mercer and operated by the Mercer
County Park Commission. For more information about the nature center, programs and
schedule of events, go to www.mercercountyparks.org.
