What Are You Doing for Earth Day?
Businesses and organizations are invited to celebrate Earth Day at the Run for Clean Air. The
Corporate Group Challenge is an opportunity for local organizations to go the extra mile this
Earth Day by bringing a group of 24 or more employees and families to the Run for Clean
Air. The Group Challenge provides a memorable experience for Earth Day, highlights your
organization’s commitment to public health, and supports a local environmental non-profit.

About the Run for Clean Air
For over 34 years, Clean Air Council has held the Run for Clean Air in Philadelphia to celebrate Earth
Day. The Run for Clean Air is one of the Philadelphia area’s longest-running charity races and its largest
Earth Day event. It has grown to 2,500 registrants, become a certified green event, added a 3K Walk and
10K Run, and much more. Located on the beautiful banks of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, the Run
is a celebration of sustainable and healthy neighborhoods, clean air, and improvements in the region’s
overall environmental health. Year after year, sponsors, volunteers, runners, walkers, and their families
choose to celebrate Earth Day with Clean Air Council.

5K Run: A flat, fast, scenic course along MLK Drive
NEW 10K Run: A new and exciting longer distance run
3K Walk: A fun and spirited stroll to celebrate Earth Day
Kids’ Fun Run: 1/2 mile run & 250 yard dash (depending on age)

immediately following the Run
Participating in the Group Challenge
Step 1 - Register employees for the Run for Clean Air (HERE)
Group members can either be part of a team or registered individually.
5K Run teams can have between of 4 and 8 participants. The first
registrant for each team will create and pay for the team. Members
joining a team can search for and join their team. Run teams must be
specified as all male, all female, or mixed gender. The top 4 finishing
times per team will be counted competitively.
Individuals can also register for the 10K Run, 5K Run or 3K Walk.
Step 2 - Submit the list of your 24 (or more) registered runners and walkers.

Fundraise for Clean Air
To increase participation in the Run for Clean Air, we invite your organization to help raise
funds to support our work on clean air issues. The fundraising page can be found at www.
crowdrise.com/runforcleanair2015. You can either donate directly or create your own
personalized fundraising page to invite friends and colleagues to donate before sending your
contributions to the Run for Clean Air fundraising page.

About Clean Air Council
Clean Air Council is a member-supported environmental organization serving the Mid- Atlantic Region.
The Council is dedicated to protecting and defending everyone’s right to breathe clean air. The Council
works through a broad array of related sustainability and public health initiatives, using public education,
community action, government oversight, and enforcement of environmental laws.
The Council was founded in 1967 and made a name for itself by the mid-1970s as the result of two
major achievements: establishing and distributing a daily regional air quality index report and forcing
Pennsylvania to implement its vehicle emissions testing program.
The Council has now grown to include 8,000 members and expanded its programmatic focus to include
global warming, environmental health, energy, climate change, waste and recycling, transportation, and
children’s health / environmental issues.
