Bus and pedestrian diversions – April 2015
We wrote to you recently about the forthcoming Crossrail works
that will require the closure of Victoria Dock Road - Freemasons
Road junction between 1 – 7 April 2015. In addition the DLR will be
suspended between Canning Town and Beckton on Saturday and
Sunday 4-5 April.
Bus diversions
Bus diversions will be in place. In addition a rail replacement bus
service will be in operation during the DLR’s closure. TfL will be
putting notices on bus stops announcing changes in routes. We have
been advised that for the rail replacement bus service the nearest
bus stops to Freemasons Road/Victoria Dock Road junction will be at
Prince Regent DLR station and opposite the Emirates Airline on
Western Gateway.
Bridge installation on Victoria Dock Road
On Tuesday 31 March and Wednesday 1 April we will be installing a
new pedestrian bridge across Victoria Dock Road. The installation
will take place during core hours. We have already diverted the
pedestrian access along Victoria Dock Road and the diversion will
remain for the duration of the work.
Pedestrian access on Victoria Dock Road from Prince Regent
With Victoria Dock Road closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic
between Chauntler Close and Freemasons Road from 1 April, a new
pedestrian route (green in the image below) will be implemented to
link Victoria Dock Road and Freemasons Road via Ethel Road at the
rear of the Ibis Styles Hotel. Vehicular access to Chauntler Close
from Prince Regent will not be affected.
