All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for all meetings. Contact hour certificates will be awarded for all attendees
who sign in at the registration desk and attend the entire program each day.

Faculty
Shay Haddock is a services account manager for GE Healthcare for Arkansas and southwest Missouri. Prior to GE
Healthcare, he worked for Walmart as the central operations manager, health and wellness. Shay graduated in 2010
from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with a bachelor’s degree in communications. In 2012, he received his
Lean and Six Sigma green belt certification.
Shay was a field goal kicker for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. He likes spending time with his wife, Molly
and their two children, Gabriel and Joshua. He enjoys fishing, hunting and golfing.
Robert Hacker, FACHE, FASHE, CHFM, is the CEO and founder of Hacker Innovative Solutions, a healthcare
consulting firm based in southern California. Prior to establishing his own firm, Robert was the regional director for
facility and construction services for the California region of Providence Health and Services. In this role, he was
responsible for a capital portfolio in excess of $2 billion including five hospitals and a high school. Robert has served
in other executive positions with other hospital systems including Kaiser Permanente, Catholic Healthcare West and
Hospital Corporation of America. Prior to healthcare, he worked in the aerospace industry, working at the facility that
produced the space shuttle main engines.
Robert is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives,
(FACHE), is a Fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (FASHE) and is a certified healthcare
facility manager (CHFM).
Robert’s passions include his wife Nelda of 30 years; his two sons, Robert II and Nick; and his three dogghters (as in
dog daughters). Robert is also a professional baseball umpire having attended the Academy of Professional Baseball
Umpiring in 2000.
Mark Noon, has been instrumental in helping numerous military facilities enhance operational and service
excellence, providing 20+ years of leadership experience in military and civilian healthcare with a focus in ancillary
services, patient services and executive leadership. For the past few years, he has brought that expertise to the Studer
Group. Mark has taught the highest level of Air Force medical leaders about improving employee engagement and
patient satisfaction, newcomer orientation and on-boarding, rounding for outcomes, and using key words at key
times. Nine different assignments, in seven different states and a tour of duty in the Middle East have created
experiences few in healthcare or leadership ever acquire. He gained attention as one of the premiere speakers in
those arenas. A retired Air Force Major, Mark is known as “The Lab Guy” in the ancillary world and had been recognized as one of the top 18 junior executives in the Air Force. He also led one of the most renowned groups in the Air
Force to a top 20 standing in the highest quality award given by the military, The Air Force Chief of Staff Team
Excellence Award. His enthusiasm and passion for organizational excellence makes him a sought after speaker and
trainer. As a coach with the Studer Group, Mark has coached in more than 25 organizations, and now leads that effort
in 15 directly. In 2013 alone, all hospitals gained in employee engagement scores, some by as high as 10 points, and
85% were up in HCAHPS composites overall.
Having shared the stage with a United States Senator, Lt. Governor and multiple military leaders, he has also written
two books and even shared the big screen as an actor in an Oscar winning movie. He brings 35 years of presentation
experience ranging from hospitals and churches to very high level military and civic events.
Mark Mergenschroer has 18 years of construction and engineering design experience. He has played a key role in
the implementation of Revit MEP at TME, Inc. He is an Autodesk Revit certified professional, Autodesk Revit
certified associate, Revit MEP gunslinger and a NICET certified fire protection designer.
Mark has shared his Building Information Modeling (BIM) knowledge at events such as Autodesk University, BIM
Forum, ASHE, AHA, ASHRAE, FIATECH and to numerous Revit user groups.
Mark has been asked to start the BIM innovative services group at TME. This new group will focus on virtual
construction modeling and improved ways for a facility manager to maintain operations of a building by using BIM
tools. Mark is also an adjunct professor at Arizona State University. He has been involved with the development of
the VLC collaboration space at Arizona State University and lectures on the subject of BIM – Building Startup and
Commissioning.
George Mills, MBA, FASHE, CEM, CHFM, CHSP, is the director for the department of engineering and the
division of healthcare improvement at The Joint Commission (TJC). In this role, George provides standards
Interpretation and education to TJC’s surveyors and accredited organizations, reviews equivalency requests, conducts surveys and is a nationally recognized speaker. Previously, George served as senior engineer for the Standards
Interpretation Group in the division of accreditation and certification operations at TJC.
George has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare setting and previous experience in the construction industry
and structural steel fabrication. Prior to joining TJC, he served as a director of facilities, held national positions
related to codes and standards, including serving as director of codes & compliance for American Society for
Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and served as a consultant.
George is a Fellow with the ASHE and also a past president of Healthcare Engineers Society of Northern Illinois, a
local ASHE chapter. George earned his master of business administration degree from California Coast University in
Santa Ana, California.
Dusty Stricker has enjoyed 29 years in the communications industry with the last 10 years in healthcare working
with facilities to identify and solve communication challenges. As a veteran of the communication industry, Dusty
has worked for Siemens Telecom Division as a regional director responsible for account development and has owned
his own communication business. He is currently the south central regional sales director at Ascom Wireless, a
Swedish based world leader in mission critical healthcare communication. He is responsible for business
development and works closely with his distributors to bring value to clients.
Dusty believes that “one size does not fit all” when it comes to communication solutions. Hospitals share a common
need to improve and increase communication workflow, but each have their own prioritization and can vary in the
way their solution is deployed. In order to have a successful communication implementation, facilities and biomedical directors must involve all disciplines. As a world leader in communication, Ascom understands healthcare
workflow as well as many of the initiatives you face, and can bring solutions to deliver higher staff and patient
satisfaction.
Dusty lives in the New Orleans area, is married and has two children in college. He is active in his community and
church, and in his free time he enjoys golf and cooking with friends.
Ed Tinsley, PE, LEED, AP, CEM, HFDP, CHFM, CHC, is the CEO of Bernhard, LLC and an executive
managing principal at TME, Inc. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor of science degree in
mechanical engineering. He is a registered professional engineer (PE), registered technical analyst, certified energy
manager (CEM), certified LEED® accredited professional (LEED® AP), certified ASHRAE healthcare facility design
professional (HFDP), ASHE certified healthcare facility manager (CHFM), certified healthcare constructor (CHC)
and the recipient of the 2010 ASHE Crystal Eagle award.
Ed is a noted authority on chilled water systems, surgery HVAC systems and other healthcare facility components.
He has authored numerous articles and presentations, is a member of ASHE faculty and is a former hospital facility
manager. Ed has taught more than 100 classes on a variety of subjects including ventilation systems, highperformance MEP/FP systems, infection control and risk assessment, energy procurement, commissioning,
sustainable design and energy conservation. He has also authored numerous magazine articles and white papers,
including many sections of ASHE’s Health Facility Commissioning Guidelines and Health Facility Commissioning
Handbook.
Ed has won 7 energy awards from ASHRAE for projects he has designed or managed. He has also been presented
with two Presidential Awards for Leadership in Federal Energy Management and received an Engineering Excellence
Award in the category of Building and Technology Systems from the American Council of Engineering Companies.
Ed has more than 30 years of industry experience. During his career as a consulting engineer, he has managed the
design of more than 300 construction projects with a total cost in excess of $5 billion.
Andrew Wescott is the senior product manager for clinical applications at Capsule Technologies in Andover,
Massachusetts and Paris, France. He loves vital signs monitors, which he first learned about at Zoe Medical, after
many years at Hewlett-Packard. Andy has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Ohio State University
and a master of business administration degree from Northeastern University.

Refunds and Cancellations
The registration fee, less a $50.00 processing fee will be granted if requests are received in writing by the AAHE
before April 29, 2015. No refunds will be granted after that date. Substitutions are permitted. Registration forms
that are phoned in or faxed are subject to the same cancellation policy. Unpaid registrants who fail to attend must
pay the entire registration fee. Registration forms sent via email will not be accepted.
