Welcome to the 2015 Environmental Events
Swansea booklet which provides details of over
200 events taking place in and around Swansea
from May to December.

These include guided walks and cycle rides, a wide range of talks,
workshops and training courses about wildlife and environmental
issues, and lots of children’s activities in amazing natural settings.
Most of the events are FREE or at low cost so everyone can
get involved.

There are several festivals to enjoy too, such as the Wales
Biodiversity Week and Bike Week in June, the Sculpture by the Sea
Festival in July, the Gower Cycling Festival in August and Swansea
Open House in September.

Swansea has a natural environment of outstanding
quality and beauty with a great diversity of landscapes
and habitats including upland moorland, coastal cliffs,
sandy beaches, heathland, woodland, wetlands, river
valleys, grasslands, sand dunes and estuaries.
These habitats, together with the many parks and gardens,
pockets of urban green-space and large areas of farmland,
support a huge diversity of plant and animal species and make
Swansea one of the most attractive and ecologically diverse
counties in the UK.

Sea-watching: meet at 9am outside the National Trust shop,

from the Rhossili cliffs. Bring binoculars and a picnic.
Seashore Safari: meet at 2pm outside the National Trust shop,
Rhossili for an afternoon adventure to discover the amazing hidden
shore life of Worms Head Causeway. Please wear suitable clothing

Eight days of led rides for all abilities in and beyond the
beautiful Gower peninsula. The 21 rides range from short
