Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore), located in Madhya Pradesh, is an institute of national importance established by the Government
of India in 2009. The institution started functioning from 2009-10 in a temporary campus at Institute of Engineering and Technology of Devi Ahilya
Vishwavidyalaya.
About Discipline of Mathematics, IIT Indore
The Discipline of Mathematics started functioning at IIT Indore in July 2009 and introduced Ph.D. programme in 2010. Mathematical knowledge plays
a crucial role in the progress of society and its continued growth through the exchange of research ideas, the encouragement and teaching of the next
generation of mathematical thinkers.
The present faculty members of the Discipline are well equipped to conduct research programme in the following areas of Mathematics: Algebra, Harmonic Analysis, Hyperbolic-type Metrics, Quasiconformal Mappings, Univalent Function Theory, Numerical Functional Analysis, Fractional Differential
Equations, Numerical Linear Algebra, Stability Analysis for Stochastic Differential Equations, Rough Set Theory, Modal Logics and Wavelet Analysis.
As the institute is rapidly growing, other areas of mathematics research will make their presence at IIT Indore shortly.

Eligibility
1. Minimum first class* Master degree in the concerned science discipline with valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR-JRF/NBHM or equivalent fellowship,
OR
2. Minimum first class* Master degree in the relevant discipline of Engineering/Technology, OR
3. B. Tech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.
*The first class is defined as
a. 60% marks forGEN/OBC (55% for SC /ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/Institute,OR
b. CPI/CGPA of 6.0 for GEN/OBC (5.5 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10; with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other
than on 10 ( for example 4.8 for GEN/OBC category (4.4 for SC/ST) on the scale of 8),OR
c. A first class as specified by the University/Institute awarding the degree.
Application Procedure
1. Applicants should apply through the online portal http://academic.iiti.ac.in:8080/nregistration.jsp
2. Application Fee: Rs. 100/ - to be paid through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of Registrar, IIT Indore and payable at Indore.
2. The signed hard copy of the application form along with Demand Draft, recent photograph, self attested relevant certificates, (for SW candidates
NOC, Experience Certificate, last 3 months salary slip and Employer’s PAN card) must be sent to the concerned DPGC Convener at the below mentioned

3. The Candidate must write his/her name and Discipline of Mathematics on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.
4. The envelope of the application must CLEARLY mention Application for Admission in PhD Program in Mathematics.
