March 31 Training Event: Corporate Compliance and Ethics
Investigation (2 Ethics CPEs)
The training program will start with a review of a corporate compliance program
including the importance of an effective program, and how it relates to the Federal
Sentencing Guidelines and the whistleblower program. It will also include compliance initiatives involving social media, gifts and entertainment, antitrust and competition, and privacy issues, plus the importance of risk assessment.
Breakfast Meeting at
Hilton Garden Inn
Airport
Building upon the foundation of a good understanding of compliance program basics, the presentation will move into the area of mindset and the importance of
thinking like a workplace investigator. This section of the presentation will start by
providing an understanding of the key purposes of an investigation and the importance of acting with an investigation mindset. While discussing a proper workplace
investigation, the presentation will cover the difference between interview and interrogation and the proper utilization
of each within a compliance investigation. Standard operating
procedures will then be discussed as well as allowable deviations within the workplace. The training will conclude with a
participant-involved case study and conclude with a discussion of lessons learned, and a Q&A session.
