Midwest American Conference for Irish Studies Regional Meeting Call for Papers 8-10 October 2015 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse La Crosse, WI Toward Revolution The upcoming centenary of the 1916 Rising offers us the opportunity to examine the myriad events that immediately preceded this revolutionary moment. The watershed events of 1916 were the culmination of both the short and long durée of Irish history. Moreover, seminal events such as the Easter Rising represent the starting point for many other historical phenomena. This year’s Midwest Regional Meeting seeks individual and panel submissions that will discuss this theme or any other topic related to the field of Irish Studies. The conference will be held on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Proposals must be submitted electronically by 1 July 2015 via this link on the ACIS website. Participants in the conference must be members of ACIS. Information regarding lodging, travel, plenaries, and social events will soon be made available.
