Introduction
When you log in to Progresso after the 15.2 update you will be presented a new look and
feel to the Web application. This document, aimed at Assessments co-ordinators or
Administrators, provides an overview of the changes related to setting up Assessment
templates and screens in 15.2. There are a number of changes to related Assessment
pages which have streamlined and improved the overall process of setting up templates
and screens.
Current Assessments pages
The current Assessment pages for Templates, Screens including Formula Definition and

New Assessments pages
In Progresso 15.2, the process to set up Assessment templates and screens remains
exactly the same. But the combined three-step Assessment Wizard for setting up
templates, screens and calendar is removed. There are now two separate wizards, one
each for templates and screens. This has been done to streamline the process of setting
up Assessment templates and screens, with a reduced number of steps for each process.
The Screen Calendar is moved to a separate page under ‘Manage Screens’ (see section
on Screen Calendar).
Templates
From the navigation menu, click Assessments. From ‘Setup’, select ‘Templates’.
Note: In the fly-out menu for Assessments, you will notice that the option for setting up
Assessment Markbook is removed from the menu. This is because it is now
integrated within Assessments templates.
The ‘Manage Template’ page appears. A list view of existing Assessment templates is
displayed. Click the icon for Add to create a new Assessment template. This displays a
simple two-step wizard. You can switch between the two steps at any point.
New Add Template wizard
Step 1
Define attributes for the template, such as name, year, purpose, subjects.
Step 2
Define the columns selecting their order, column name, column type, list scale and
weightage to name a few.
Click the icon for Save to add a new template or save changes to the existing template.

Definition. This page also features a new UI. The functionality of this feature remains
unchanged although now it is possible to select any column from the temple to define
the formula for.

Screens
From the navigation menu, click Assessments. From ‘Setup’, select ‘Screens’. The
‘Manage Screen’ page appears. A list view of existing Assessment screens is displayed.
Click the icon for Add to create a new Assessment screen. This displays a four-step
wizard. You can switch between the steps at any point. Click the icon for Save to save
changes to the screen.
New Add Screen wizard
Step 1
Select the properties for the screen, such as Academic Year, Name, who is the screen
for, for which years, which roles can view it, subject entry templates, target or pastoral
templates, how the results are entered and the ability to define the date for which the
groups had to be active to enter results for.
Step 2
Select the groups you are creating the Assessment screen for. You select groups from
Teaching Groups, Registration Groups or Academic House Groups.
Step 3
Select the column properties. You select their order, whether to include the column or
not, corresponding template, template column, display name, width of the column and
select from options for read only or mandatory. There is also a column for ‘Colour Code’.
For the columns where colour coding exists, an icon for delete appears. You click this
icon if you want to delete the colour coding for the column.
Step 4
Select options for learner columns.

Two features are now integrated within Assessments screens; Screen calendar and
Subject Markbook are now set up from ‘Manage Assessment screens’ page. Selecting a
screen in the list displays additional icons for colour coding, link to teacher markbook
and define the screen calendar.
Colour coding
There are two ways to navigate to the new ‘Define Colour Conditions’ page.
Icon for Define Colour Code

To define colour coding from the ‘Manage Screen’ page, select a screen and click
the icon for Define Colour Code.

To define colour coding while adding or editing a screen, click the icon for Define
Colour Code at any point. When you click Define Colour Code at any point
during adding or editing a screen, it automatically saves the changes.
The functionality of this feature remains unchanged apart from the new UI. Most
noticeably, a new addition is the colour grid. You now use a colour grid to select colours
for conditions. This offers choice and flexibility in selecting colours for conditions.
